RE: Feathered Friends: Seagulls

Hi there @janton. Good to know you are still kicking. 😃

@melinda010100 and I were concerned how you were doing in that winter blast Texas received. Now you know what a Canadian winter can be like..not just a week or so but we can get it for a few months. ❄️

Your experiences during the storm should make a good post. I’ll check your page after to see if you posted anything new.

I’m glad you liked the seagull shots. Some may leave the area and go a bit more southerly but most stay around and will find open spots on the water. I was down by the Montague River the other day and many gulls were flying around and landing on open spots on the water.

Don’t be a stranger @janton. Take care and be safe. 🌺Have you got the vaccination for the COVID-19 yet? I will be registering for mine later this month.

Howdy redheadpei! Good to hear from you too. I also like that post of yours with the giant ant hills. Wow, we don't even have that big of ant hills in Texas! Those are amazing. I spent alot of time in the Spring on our lawns disturbing the ant hills and then after a few weeks of that they abandon their mounds.

They damage the lawn and it takes forever for the grass to grow back in those areas, not sure why but they really make the lawns ugly.

I haven't gotten the vaccine and after all the videos I've seen that so many of the top doctors, researchers, scientists and virologists in the world have made to warn people about it I wouldn't even think of getting one now. They've proven that it's a bioweapon and has nothing to do with keeping a person from getting the virus.

Hard to believe I know, I didn't believe it at first until the vast number of great warning videos that explain the science behind it and also who is pushing these things. It's some scary stuff. For most of us nutritional supplements are extremely effective and prevent the virus from getting to us but the media never talks about that method.

Spring is here, it's supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow, I hope you guys will see signs of Spring soon!

Hi Cowboy @janton. Yes our anthills are something else. 🐜 Thankfully they are in the forest for they don't look pretty on the lawn. Hubster keeps an eye out when he mows the lawn to make sure none start on the lawn. They are determined and hard to remove once they start building the nest. They are harmless..we don't have the fire ants.

It is strange times Cowboy and a predicament whether to get the vaccine. I'm wondering if, in the future, we will need proof of getting the vaccination to be able to travel outside our country or province.

I'm looking forward to spring weather. 80 degrees sounds fantastic.

Howdy again redheadpei! How do you guys get rid of your ant hills? I try to disturb them once a week and after a couple of months they give up their mound and move somewhere else. I think that can be sped up by putting some gasoline on them but I prefer the less deadly method.

I mean, I don't want them in the yard but I know they are part of the eco system as well so they have a purpose. Actually I'm not sure what their purpose is though. lol.

The vaccine issue, yes it's quite a conundrum because they are pushed by so many big hospitals and medical companies. But if you research the vaccine you'll find tons of horrifying information put out as warnings by literally some of the top doctors and scientists in the world. A few weeks ago the figure of deaths attributed directly to the vaccine was over 10,000(which our mainstream media will never talk about) and some scientists estimate that over the next few years if most people take it, like 90%, that the death toll will be in the millions world-wide. And that doesn't count the terrible side effects, neurological disorders and auto immune diseases that the vaccines are causing. yikes.

On our CDC's own website they admit that the vaccines don't prevent people from getting the virus so why would anyone get one? I'm sorry for the rant, I'm just alarmed about it and I want you guys to be safe. I don't trust our government nor our government endorsed or affiliated institutions any more! That's sad. Maybe yours is more trustworthy!

Morning Cowboy,

Yes there is still a lot of hype about the vaccines. I ‘m still undecided. The only thing is, I don’t think eventually one will be able to travel out of state or province without showing proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or quarantine for 14 days. Not that I plan on going that far but even to get on a plan to see friends in Ontario may prove difficult without proof of vaccine.

About the ants. They sure are determined little critters. I know of a friend who poured really hot water on an anthill on her lawn and she said it worked to keep them away. One may have to resort to fire to get rid of them. I don’t want them on the lawn near the house but they are fine in the forest.

Ants have a purpose besides being food of other animals. Some species, like the carpenter ant and the stinging fire ant, can be pests but generally ants are beneficial. Their activities aerate the soil. The leaves and insects brought into the nest decay and fertilize the surrounding plants. Ants are decomposers, feeding on organic waste, insects, or other dead animals.
