Catching Up at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge

For this share for the #feathered-friends community, I wanted to post some photos of feathered friends at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge. It's an area that is about 40 minutes away from our home; nestled along the Mississippi River, it's a utopia of wildlife. Birds included!

Our family (my wife and our daughter) have made an effort to make a trip "somewhere" every weekend the past few months. It might be a new town, or a state park, or even a new store, but we've made the intention to do something as a family every weekend. The best ones are when we get outside and take in nature.

I know I'm a broken record on Hive about this place known as the Driftless area, but I can't help it. There is so much nature to be enjoyed over the course of four seasons...we're quite lucky, honestly.

The tundra swans are on the way...can't wait to share soon!

Ducks roam and feed in nature. They are excellent swimmers and can be seen in the water even in cold weather. Very good photography
