There is an evil everywhere ☠️
The morning has been pretty busy since the school reopened. I have to leave both the kids at different times, so literally we don't have time to even talk in the morning. When I came out of the bathroom, I saw my son in very much despair standing near the window where these squabs were growing. Before he came into action a crow came in and pulled one of the squabs, taking the advantage of their mother not being there. My son shouted, but by then it already had done the damage. Probably it would have killed both, but because he shouted, it killed one of them, before fleeing away.
It was heart breaking to see the other one alone and looking out for some help, but we could barely do anything to find out their mother, apart from giving some food there.
If you have not seen my previous post, then have a look at this post, the kids were enjoying the squabs and the love and interactions between the mother and the squabs. My son was heart broken, seeing a death so close in front of him. My daughter was in school and when she came back, she was very upset as well. But this is reality - there is an evil everywhere. The mother came back after some time, and until then, the lady made sure to watch there, to have at least one alive. Hopefully this one survives and flies with a new life.

Not a great way to start the day, especially since you were in a rush to get everyone off to school. Nature can be cruel at times and having the children witness this had to be somewhat traumatic for sure. The lesson learned here is that life is so fragile and being aware of that fact may teach us all just how precious life is!
I had to console the kids all day - they definitely learn from these.
Noo :( I´m sorry this happened and I´m even more sorry your son saw it... In fact, I saw something similar today. I was working out at one of my favorite outdoor gyms here in Krakow earlier today and suddenly, I saw a squirrel running for her life while being attacked by a huge crow. I chase off the crow and let the squirrel find a shelter on a tree. But I have never seen anything like this and I didn´t even know that crows can attack squirrels. The squirrel was a pretty big, it definitely was an adult specimen. I´m pretty sure the crow wouldn´t even be able to eat it, maybe it was just harassing the poor rodent. It´s weird though, crows are known to be extremely intelligent but I doubt they can be naturally malicious. I believe no animals are. That´s a trait unique to humans only, I would say...
they are capable of even hurting human - we have heard about few incidences here, this world of animals is survival of the fittest - who knows may be one day we will have someone superior hunting us.
So you think that Mr. Hitchcock was onto something back in 1963? :D

Yes, it must be real, and even there is cultural beliefs - if a crow touches the head of a human by any chance, then you know your worst days are coming.
That´s an interesting myth. Never heard of it before. Ok, I will be careful :)
What a horrible way for the family to start the day. Beautiful birds those squabs. Hope it improves. Tim
Ya, the day really went bad, good that the kids went to school and that helped them a bit to move on.
What a bad day, i feel sorry for this bad incident. On the other hand it's good that one of them is fine.
True, at least he saved one which leaves some hope.
That is a gory sight there. It's pathetic, but that's actually the life of animals. Killing to survive and stay on top of the food chain. Just look at how that tiny bird died.
True, I was telling the kids about that - the life of animals is always survival of the fittest.
It's the survival of the fittest, the ecosystem is made to carry on this way, but we wouldn't deny that it can be cruel.
That is awful. Animals survive by doing this to other animals. The big eats the small. At least there is still one left, let's hope mother can look after it !
Ya, I tagged it as NSFW because some may not like to see it.
Removed NSFW, Ya hopefully at least one survives.
It painful to witness such as animals do this to survive
In such circumstances and places, little young and also children must be accompanied everywhere. Other than the crow, there are animals that seek their own interests, and we cannot say that they are evil, but unaware
what a pity what has happened, I imagine how your children will be with this situation; nature is often cruel
Good thing your son was there to save one of them.hello dear friend @sanjeevm
Fortunately there is one left for its mom, this is animals life, survival for strongest.
It is now necessary to increase oversight and care
Feeling really sad to see the dead squab, kids are more emotional than all other people. Hope now this baby pigeon will be safe and his mother will take good care.
Ugh
This is a disadvantage

Sometimes cruelty is present in more than one way and is harsh on us, on the small children and the life itself. Big hug and i hope this little birds get to become grow ups as they will be beautiful.
That is so sad. But, while there is evil, there is also the kindness and love that your family have for these animals.
I think it is important to hold onto our kind and loving selves because, sometimes, when bad things happen, our hearts break a little. Then they start to harden. Sometimes, people gradually become less kind and loving or they mistake being kind and loving for being foolish because it hurts. However, if everyone hardened their hearts, there would be no kindness or love left.
I try to remember that when I feel very sad about senseless acts of cruelty.
