Mostly #WordlessWednesday - Birds at my Feeder

It was at some point in late November/early December I decided to put my bird feeders out by our bedroom window again. I had quite the Avian Eatery going for a couple of years around 2017, but with all of my health stuff, combined with issues concerning our rental home (the septic specifically has had me worried we'd need to pull up stakes & move at any given moment), I haven't had the urge. This year I decided I needed some birds at my feeder to distract me & Freddie (our rescue cat), so hubby & I set up the shepherd's hooks.

I started with just my squirrel resistant feeder, and this week I added a couple others. While I've taken bunches of photos over the past couple of months, I'm remembering exactly how hard it is to get decent shots out of our not exactly sparkling windows while the frenetic birds bounce from place to place (even when my body isn't doing the same).

Yesterday afternoon I made a point of taking a break from the internet to enjoy the little bit of sunshine that appeared. This morning I went through the 100+ shots and found the ones I thought were post worthy (which, since the feeder was actually in the shade at the time I was snapping, don't look particularly bright and sunny...lol). Also these were taken with my Nikon affixed to my tripod), out my Durham New Hampshire window. I hope you enjoy!

The photos are brilliant. I did Same too today, got away from the internet and my smartphone to enjoy that nice bit of nature.

Thanks so much, @stevenson7! And I'm glad you managed to enjoy a bit of nature as well - it's always good to take a bit of a break. 🤗

True that.

Thank you for sharing
😀

I am so happy that you put your feeders back out again. I would imagine the birds are even happier than I am! Great photos. Having the birds just outside my window brings a lot of life to my day. I know you will enjoy having them close to the window!

Thanks, Melinda! Yes, the birds have been very vocal about their happiness at having the feeders back - well, I think that's what they're saying when the feeders need filling... 😂

And I'd forgotten how awesome it is to have them right outside my window. I'm even making a point of watching without running for my camera all the time. But still be warned - I may have a ton of Feathered Friends posts coming up! 🤣

Wow... love them all ! so cute ! i am seeing Downy Woodpecker for the first time

Thank you, @ravthijo! Funny timing - just noticed a Hairy Woodpecker at the feeder (larger version of the Downy) right before I sat down to reply to this! I hope to "introduce" you to them as well in the coming months. And thanks again for your kind words! 🤗

Convey my Hi to them when ever you meet them again , i can watch them without any timeframe . the quality is too good and perfect clicks

HA!!!
That looks like the same bunch as at my feeders, lately.

Coolness,@bluefinstudios and not too surprising considering you live "just down the road a spell" from me... 🤣

(granted it's like two hours of road, but still...😆)

Do you get to Plum Island at all?
Some really fun birding there.

Birds sure can be entertaining and I love to keep the feeders full to draw them into the yard for bird watching!
Lovely collection of birds you have there!

Yep, I've been the crazy bird lady in my house for a number of years now, and I've missed doing the feeder thing. And thanks so much, @porters!

You really know your birds. Great snaps! Birds are probably one of the hardest subjects to photograph followed closely by jewelry product photography.

It took lots of pestering question asking in a local FB bird group before I could identify most of the birds I've seen flying around the yard for years. I even recall a cringe-worthy moment of sharing a photo that I thought was a hawk sitting in a tree... only to discover it was a tiny little Junco...😂

Oh yes, I would agree to that. Especially dark birds (like crows) or extremely vibrant birds (like cardinals). Getting my camera to see what I see can be SO frustrating at times!

And thanks, @learning-tarot!

Lovely, delicate images, Traci. Sweet to see these little dears...

And such a sweet compliment, @yahia-lababidi - thank you so much!

Those exotic little birds remind me of the beauty of small things that we might overlook, like good fortune

Have a lovely day, @traciyork 🙏
