I would like to submit this photo of a mother Canada goose with her goslings for this round of the Show Me A Photo contest.
I came across these geese just over 1 month ago while hiking near a local lake. As I made my way closer to the water's edge, I startled this family of geese out from their hiding spot in the reeds. While I hadn't seen them beforehand, this gave me the perfect opportunity to get a few photos of the group up close before they paddled away to a safer distance out on the lake. As the geese paddle further out into the water another adult comes into the picture. As they get closer to the other goose, the parents of the young geese seem to be tightening their reign on the brood, Canadian geese can be so aggressive when it comes to protecting their young.
