Plagiarism is not allowed on Hive and may be quite strictly punished by blacklisting the account and/or downvoting users' posts (so, it won't earn anything), or else.
On top of that, even if we hold the right license or author's authorization to use his/her work, in most cases, a link to the original is required.
As well, be aware that publishing on Hive is considered commercial publishing because we earn something with it. Therefore you would need to search for images that may be used for commercial publishing or acquire such a license.
We will leave you here a couple of links where you can find free of charge images that are also free to use even for commercial purposes.
It's just friendly advice to keep you stay on the safe side, not get blacklisted or even downvoted. Therefore we would highlight once again joining the Hive Learners community, where you would learn all these things and many more.

Unfortunately, we are sharing your fears 100%.
But he has the right to pick that choice too. Some people think this might be some empty blah-blah from a couple of members, so they would decide to ignore it. Others might think we don't know what we are talking about, as they are allowed to share such content on other non-commercial social sites (i.e., FB, Instagram, etc.), without any problem. Some arrive here with the intention of squeezing the reward pool as much as possible by playing smart (as long as they stay under the radar), while some others just don't understand or don't want to understand until they learn it the hard way. Or maybe he thinks interaction with the community is a "one-way street."
It would be interesting to see which group he belongs to. π
