After working in the garden — weeding & moving around plants — I had a hearty farmer’s brunch (meat, rice & eggs) and was ready for my afternoon nap, when my wife called me out.
Knowing what a bird lover I am, she wanted me to see this little guy by a tree.
It was so small, and not moving as my wife approached it, I suspected it might be a stuffed animal.
But, upon closer inspection, I could see it was a baby, based on fuzz on its head. My instinct was to grab the cute little guy, pet and feed it.
But last time I a fallen baby birds was brought to me, I could not take care of them and they died.
So, I practiced restraint & it paid off!
Within moments, papa & mama bird took turns visiting the little creature and feeding it. Then, moments later, I saw the tiny bird hopping and practicing flying.
I’m grateful I kept mr distance. And, as a kind of consolation prize, my four new hens have overcome their shyness and were walking all over me as I typed up post :) 🐔
