Despite being a predator for the cute little birds, it is a fine specimen. Just because it is the circle of life doesn’t mean we can’t intervene occasionally and save a couple feathery lives.

Recently I was in western Canada and they had the most wonderful looking magpies. Turns out they are like flying raccoons to the locals and raid nests the same way as the harrier hawks.

Bravo for the pictures and the story along with your act of heroism!

Thank you Zeke and it is indeed a real good looker, but it can go and raid elsewhere as our territory is out of bounds :) LOL

The magpies are good looking and I didn't know that they are also raiders, as we don't have magpies here. We do have many other raiding birds though, and one has to constantly keep an eye out.

Glad that you liked the pics and the story and I am no hero, only trying to help :)
