Saludos. Desde hace algún tiempo, más del que uno quisiera, los problemas de electricidad en Venezuela se han ido incrementando. En la zona donde vivo, al Norte de Maracay, son frecuentes los cortes a toda hora, varias veces al día, y en algunos casos durante un tiempo bastante prolongado.
Estas interrupciones del servicio eléctrico alteran todas las rutinas de la vida y producen daños que en algún momento alguien se encargará de calcular.
Para las personas como yo que dependemos del internet para muchas actividades estos cortes se convierten en una calamidad. Y en mi zona ni siquiera se puede lograr conexión mediante los datos, parece que las baterías de las repetidoras se descargan rápidamente y quedamos totalmente incomunicados. Esto genera muchos problemas, son muchas las veces en que no puedo montar mis publicaciones en HIVE porque no cuento con el internet.
Me ha pasado también que justo en el momento en que me encuentro haciendo una transacción en Binance se corta el servicio, no puedo liberar las criptos para concretar la operación y las personas tienen que pedirle al sistema que las libera mediante una apelación, y aunque todos saben que es verdad que no se ha hecho nada con mala intención, sino por interrupciones del servicio eléctrico o del internet, ese tipo de apelaciones daña la reputación del usuario.
También me afecta la interrupción del servicio para mantener comunicación con mis hijos y mis nietas que viven en el exterior. Por diferencias de horarios nos podemos comunicar solo en un rango de horas muy preciso, y los cortes a veces se presentan en esos horarios. La consecuencia es que pasan días sin que pueda saber nada de mi gente que está al otro lado del mar.
Afortunadamente la tecnología tiene alternativas para estos casos. Se puede tener una planta eléctrica alimentada por diesel o gasolina, pero esto es bastante costoso, y también se puede tener un equipo que conserve la energía necesaria para mantenernos conectados.
Leyendo las publicaciones de las personas que sigo me encontré con esta publicación del amigo @musicandreview, allí él hacía la reseña de un equipo de mini ups con un precio bastante accesible y con la capacidad de mantener los equipos encendidos durante un tiempo bastante razonable. Como los dos vivimos en la misma ciudad me comuniqué con él y me dio algunas referencias de precios y lugares donde podría encontrar el equipo. La publicación de él me sirvió de mucho para resolver mi problema.
Una tarde fui al centro comercial que me queda más cercano a ver los equipos. Había mini ups de varias marcas y en diferentes rangos de precios. Esto de los precios también se ha convertido en un problema, hay que preguntar con qué tasa trabajan los negocios, un asunto comprensible porque el diferencial entre el dólar oficial y el paralelo es bastante grande. En mi caso iba a pagar con bolívares y las diferencias eran notables, hasta diez dólares de diferencia si se pagaba en bolívares o en divisas.
En una tienda vi el equipo que había reseñado mi amigo. El precio era el mismo que él me había dicho, treinta dólares, y lo mejor era que podía pagarlo con mi tarjeta de débito a la tasa del BCV.
Compré el equipo y me dieron la instrucción de dejarlo cargando conectado, al menos por ocho horas, antes de conectarle mi WIFI y mi modem de fibra óptica.
Este mini ups es de 12000mAH, suficiente para durar unas ocho horas. En la parte posterior tiene entradas para conexiones Ethernet, por si la conexión del usuario es del tipo de antenas, además tiene tres entradas, una de 5V, otra de 9V y otra de 12V, las que sirven perfectamente para la mayoría de los equipos de Wifi y modem que existen en nuestro país.
En la caja trae los cables para cada una de las conexiones y un cable con dos salidas por si hay dos equipos que tengan que conectarse al mismo voltaje, también incluye un adaptador para equipos con puntas pequeñas. Además, cuenta con un puerto USB que puede servir para cargar dispositivos como el celular, bombillos recargables, o linternas recargables.
Una de las cosas que me gustó es que tiene luces indicadoras de carga. Cuando lo compré marcaba 50% y desde que lo enchufe a la electricidad siempre se ha mantenido al 100%.
También me ha gustado que tiene su botón de on off, esto para mí es importante. Soy de las personas que desconecto los equipos durante la noche, y este mini ups BegProd ECO P18, me permite apagar los equipos conectados mientras él continúa cargándose.
Hasta ahora la experiencia de usuario ha sido muy satisfactoria. He tenido cortes de electricidad de más de seis horas y el mini ups ha mantenido los equipos encendidos todo ese tiempo, sin darme indicaciones de que le haya bajado la carga.
La compra de este dispositivo ha significado un gran cambio tanto para mí como para mi esposa. Hemos podido bajar notablemente nuestro estrés cuando se va la electricidad, ya sabemos que aunque nos corten el servicio podemos continuar con nuestras actividades en HIVE y con las otras cosas relacionadas con el internet.
