Últimamente, he estado leyendo sobre las integraciones que se vienen trabajando y realizando con la tecnología blockchain. Para mi sorpresa, fue muy grato leer sobre un proyecto que hasta hace poco era solo una idea y que se esté llevando a cabo ¡me encanto!
Hi Geeks!Lately, I've been reading about the integrations that have been working and being done with blockchain technology. To my surprise, I was very pleased to read about a project that until recently was just an idea and that is being carried out, I loved it!
Las empresas licoreras han evolucionado con el transcurrir de los años, me parece curioso como estas industrias pueden adaptarse y buscar una mejora sin poner en riesgo la producción, y a mi parecer, creo que logran ese avance justo por eso, la venta y consumo de las bebidas alcohólicas no se detiene (para muestra, la prohibición en USA).
Con todo este avance tecnológico, esperaba que nuevamente estas empresas tomaran la iniciativa de incorporarlas en sus procesos y, fue muy grato ver que está trabajando en esta implementación. Pero, aja, ¿de qué va todo esto, como es eso que blockchain y tequila?
Liquor companies have evolved over the years, I find it curious how these industries can adapt and seek improvement without jeopardizing production, and in my opinion, I think they achieve this progress just for that reason, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages does not stop (for example, the prohibition in the USA).
With all this technological advancement, I was hoping that again these companies would take the initiative to incorporate them into their processes and it was very nice to see that they are working on this implementation. But, aha, what is this all about, how is it that blockchain and tequila?
Tras una unión entre una empresa de tequila y Siemens (si, ¡Siemens!) implementaron sensores para monitorear sus líneas de producción y obtener la medición de consumo energético, ¿eso para qué? Hay dos puntos importantes: eficiencia energética y reducir la huella de carbono.
Esa colaboración me llamo muchísimo la atención, ya que, pensaba que iba a suceder con otros destilados antes que el tequila. Y es que, este destilado en su elaboración y por la denominación de origen cuidan muchísimo su proceso de elaboración que está basada en su cultura, mantener ese proceso artesanal de la jima para obtener la materia prima es de suma importancia, mantener esa esencia es vital para el Tequila y el Mezcal.
A collab between a tequila company and Siemens (yes, Siemens!) they implemented sensors to monitor their production lines and obtain the measurement of energy consumption, what for? There are two important points: energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint.
This collaboration caught my attention because I thought it would happen with other distillates before tequila. And the fact is that this distillate in its elaboration and because of the denomination of origin, they take great care of its elaboration process, which is based on their culture, maintaining the artisanal process of the jima to obtain the raw material is of utmost importance, maintaining that essence is vital for Tequila and Mezcal.
Todo eso, es un temazo y por eso, me impresiono que lograran incorporar la tecnología, aunque inicialmente no tiene que ver con su elaboración, según esa empresa, ya está evaluando la incorporación de digitalizar los procesos de producción, y que, a través de la blockchain gracias a su trazabilidad, poder verificar la autenticidad de la botella, la materia prima, en una visión un poco más alta lograr interconectar por medio de sensores y barricas digitales realizar un monitoreo desde la jima hasta que el producto sea embotellado todo, en tiempo real.
Cabe destacar, que, este caso del tequila fue el que más me impresiono por lo que comentaba anteriormente de la DO (denominación de origen), pero, ya esto, se está empezando a ver en empresas de whiskey, brandy, coñac y con cerveza (hasta donde he investigado, capaz, hay muchas más). Me emociona mucho y espero poder conseguir más información sobre casos de uso porque siento que se puede expandir esta aceleración tecnológica y sacar provecho. Imaginen en tierras mexicanas un campo de agave y que gracias a drones poder monitorear en tiempo real las plantaciones, consumo de energético y de agua, la fermentación y destilación si es la adecuada, además de cumplir los parámetros establecidos, el envasado y embotellado ¡Increíble!
All of this is a big issue and that is why I was impressed that they managed to incorporate technology, although initially it does not have to do with its production, according to this company, it is already evaluating the incorporation of digitizing the production processes, and that, through the blockchain thanks to its traceability, to verify the authenticity of the bottle, the raw material, in a slightly higher vision, to interconnect through sensors and digital barrels to monitor everything from the barrel until the product is bottled, in real time.
It should be noted that this case of tequila was the one that impressed me the most because of what I mentioned earlier about the DO (denomination of origin), but this is starting to be seen in whiskey, brandy, cognac and beer companies (as far as I have researched, there are probably many more). I'm very excited & hope to be able to get more information on use cases because I feel that this technological acceleration can be expanded and take advantage of it. Imagine in Mexican lands an agave field and thanks to drones being able to monitor in real time the plantations, energy and water consumption, fermentation & distillation if it is adequate, in addition to complying with the established parameters, packaging and bottling, incredible!

Aún queda mucho por desarrollar, cada día dando un paso más en los avances tecnológicos, pero sobre todo en poder aprovechar los beneficios que puede dar la cadena de bloques.

There is still much to develop, every day taking a step further in technological advances, but especially in being able to take advantage of the benefits that blockchain can give.

Que maravilla hacer uso de la tecnología para ir optimizando los procesos. Mientras leía los avances en la industria licorera, me imaginé esto en la industria cafetalera y cacaotera en Venezuela, sería mucho lo que se podría lograr con su implementación.

Es fascinante Gora, me encantaria que lo aplicaran acá. Uff una producción más optima, mayor crecimiento en exportación, un producto que sea con una calidad avalada.
A finales del año pasado, logre ir a una pequeña empresa cafetalera en Caracas y quede impresionada de lo automatizado que tienen todo con PLC y algunos RLC haciendo unas pruebas para diferentes tipos tostados. Que puedan implementar blockchain vuela la cabeza!
Yo había leído una sobre el blockchain y vino pero esta de tequila me parece sumamente interesante 😎😎

Ooooooooooo qué interesante, me imagino eso mismo aplicado, pero para hacer ron o cocuy sería algo potente y más aplicado en Venezuela. El mundo evoluciona de una manera potente, o mejor dicho, abrumadora. : ) Cada día vemos cosas muy nuevas.

Uff sería un gran avance el poder integrar está tecnología en la realización de Ron y Cocuy. Sobre todo, en Cocuy, este destilado q le han dado tan mala reputación.
El que se pueda verificar y validar su materia prima y que cumple con todos los requisitos de su DOC impulsaria más su venta, exportación y consumo
