KURAKHOVE: THE LAST DEFENSE LINE ON THE FLANKS OF POKROVSK
The situation in Kurakhove, Donetsk Oblast, is rapidly deteriorating. According to military journalist Bohdan Miroshnikov, approximately 60% of the city is already under occupation, with fierce battles ongoing for the high-rise buildings in the city center.
The loss of the private sector happened far too quickly, delivering a critical blow to the defense. Particularly surprising was the enemy's breakthrough in the Dalne area. Currently, there is a chance to consolidate positions at the local thermal power plant (TPP), but only if Stari Terni remains under Ukrainian control.
However, the risk of a repeat of the Azovstal tragedy looms large if the situation is not stabilized. Miroshnikov notes that losing Kurakhove could become a pivotal moment, as it is the last key defensive hub on the flanks of Pokrovsk.
At this critical juncture, consolidating all forces and responding swiftly is essential to avoid a rapid loss of positions. The outcome of the battles for Kurakhove will determine the security of nearby regions and the resilience of the entire defensive line.

Ситуація в місті Курахове, що в Донецькій області, стрімко погіршується. За словами військового журналіста Богдана Мірошнікова, вже близько 60% території міста окуповано, а запеклі бої за багатоповерхівки в центральній частині міста тривають.
Приватний сектор було втрачено занадто швидко, що стало критичним ударом по обороні. Особливо несподіваним став прорив противника в районі Дальнього. Наразі залишається шанс закріпитися на території місцевої ТЕС, але лише за умови утримання Старих Тернів.
Втім, ризик повторення трагедії Азовсталі залишається значним, якщо ситуацію не буде стабілізовано. Мірошніков зазначає, що втрата Курахового може стати переломним моментом, адже це останній ключовий вузол оборони на флангах Покровська.
У цей критичний момент необхідна консолідація всіх сил і максимально швидка реакція, щоб уникнути стрімкої втрати позицій. Від результату боїв за Курахове залежить безпека сусідніх регіонів і стійкість усієї оборонної лінії.
