Hello Hivers 😊 Another day for a new blog! I hope everyone has a great day 😊
A non-working holiday provides an ideal occasion to connect with family, fostering bonds during a special time together. That’s precisely why we ensured the recent non-working holiday became a memorable and meaningful experience.
Allow me to recount our journey, starting from Compostela and taking us to Our Lady of Remedios Church in Odlot, Bogo City, Cebu, and back.
We departed the house around 10 in the morning, a bit later than planned due to our son’s late wake-up.
Ensuring we had all the essential items for the day, especially his milk, added to our preparation time.
Traveling with our little one always meant being fully equipped with his necessities.
The journey to our destination took three hours in one way so six hours in total, accounting for the stops we made.
Our first stop was at Shell Bogo City for a restroom break and some fresh air, allowing our son to stretch his legs briefly.
The next stop was at McDonald's Bogo City, Cebu where we ordered lunch to satisfy our hunger. Afterward, we continued to our destination at Our Lady of Remedios Church in Odlot, a barangay within Bogo City.
At last, we arrived! The church has expanded with extensions on both sides, creating a distinct contrast from our previous visit. The atmosphere is serene, with only a few individuals present, making our experience enjoyable.
The church’s interior design was captivating and full of vibrancy, radiating a sacred atmosphere. The stained glass windows added to the beauty and reverence of the grand church.
Towards the rear right side of the church, there’s a counter for donations and offering thanks. On the left side, there’s a wall adorned with testimonial miracles and thanksgiving.
It was where we could write our petitions and prayers too.
Slightly to the left, the solemn display of Our Lady of Remedios offers a place for repentance and prayer in Odlot Bogo City Church.
Subsequently, we moved on to candle-lighting candles, humbly yielding our prayers and life petitions.
Following the customary church ceremonies, we took a moment to unwind on the right side where the lush Bermuda Grass had beautifully grown.
Our son delighted in running and playing with his balls, and we joined in, enjoying a playful game of chase with his toys.
*We enjoyed the place by taking so much photos 😁💗.
Subsequently, perspiration covered our bodies, signaling that we were tired and prepared to head home. Hahahahaha!
En route to Lapaz, Bogo City, Cebu our in-laws opted to make a stop at the renowned Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Shrine for their inaugural visit. It proved to be a worthwhile detour.
It offered solace, especially at its peak ideal spot for introspection and revitalizing one’s resilience. The air’s refreshing coolness provided a soothing balm for the soul.
Her sanctuary, with its distinctive design, featured a glass-framed image of the blessed Mary at its center and a big statue above. Visiting was truly worthwhile.
For those opting for the stair climb, if my memory serves me right, these were around 113 steps free to correct me. It also served as a form of exercise. Hehehehe!
Presented below are some of the unforgettable snapshots captured at the location.
After savoring the location, we proceeded and took a break at Parola Restaurant in Sands Gateway Mall Danao City.
While awaiting our order, my father-in-law suggested capturing some photos of us. Here’s the result.
At last, our orders arrived. After the hunger-inducing round-trip ride, I was eagerly anticipating savoring a hot clam soup.
Every dish was delectable and remarkably gratifying to our palates.
The Filipino flavors encouraged me to indulge in more rice.
Following that, revitalizing fresh juice with lemon and cucumber slices rounded out our satisfying dining experience. Hehehe!
We were thoroughly satiated. Grateful to the Almighty God for the gift of family and life.
We were on our way home, at last, admiring the radiant Christmas lights adorning the Compostela Municipal building.
**Truly, spending time with our families is the greatest gift-one to be valued and held dear eternally.
