Back then, I never understand how stressful college could be until my third year in college came. I have heard my friends from higher years say that they have cried a lot from overwhelming projects and presentations but I couldn't comprehend a bit from their whinings.

"Senior High School was actually more stressful than college and I was more pressured back then," I thought to myself when comparing my high school journey than now. When the new semester for this school year officially started and I got to work on few projects within a week, I'm taking those stupid thoughts back. I have to say sorry for myself for spouting nonsense and commenting on something I didn't really have understood deeply.
I have just seen the real situation recently. I can only cope up because I'm used to work under pressure. My previous experiences had contributed a lot in building up my tolerance with pressure and stress. Also, I have found a good support system that will just laugh all the worries and problems away even on the critical moments of our college journey.
Our Saturdays during this semester can be one example of the most stressful days. It has a jam-packed schedule from 8am to 5pm with no vacant, which means, we can't even have our lunch break if our Instructor wouldn't give us any privilege. Few weeks have just passed this semester but it feels like a year already. We are fully loaded with presentations every week and sometimes, it should be all done within a week. Our limited brain storage that works like a memory of a Gold Fish couldn't keep up with all the overwhelming data. Information overload is the result oftentimes, we couldn't process the information properly and we stressed out ourselves over it.
It's also more tiresome when you are leader of the group. In our case, I am the LEADER. Always. That's why in our last subject this Saturday, I gave the role to someone else because I can't take a single responsibility all the way in all subjects for the entire semester. Fortunately, most of my members are reliable. I can tap whoever in the group to take the task and they'll obediently comply, then try will their best to do the given workloads.
This Saturday, we were supposed to give a report about our assignment last week. To make it more exciting, the Instructor made us choose rolled papers with problems and let us all prepare. Then, at the following week, he used a Spin the Wheel method to choose the group who will explain their report. It didn't make us excited but more nervous. We hold our our breaths in every spin of that wheel and every name that the arrow could touch, hoping that we shouldn't be choosen to be the first presenter. We all know that all the criticims and expectations are often intended on the first group. Gladly, we were not choosen yet and the Instructor was considerate with the mistakes of the first group.
The next subjects only have discussions. Those were not boring ones but waking up early for morning classes and not having vacant hours made us sleepy during the lectures. It's even embarrassing if we fell asleep since the Instructors were kind to us. Thankfully, I have goofy friends around me. They would crack jokes from time to time to have a lively lecture.
College survival doesn't only depends on intelligence. It also requires a good circle that provides a good support to lift each other in every dire situations. Initially, I thought I could do this alone since I'm used to it but studying is different when you have cheerful friends around you. I'm struggling to live by but these guys just make everything fun and it's motivating me somehow not to give up.
Friends are my reminder that there's always hope. They're a treasure to be cherished.
That's all for now, folks. Thanks for reading my blog. Have a good day!
Caesar explained it very well. Be grateful that you have a strong support system during the struggles at school. Best of luck on your studies! You can do it!
College life is seriously hard, you'll have sleepless night just because of those presentation and projects. Sometimes nagsasabay sabay pa talaga yan. Like sige, kill us womith it! Lolol. Still, no choice but to survive. For the future eh. And yep, mahalaga din talagang you have good circle of friends in those times. At least, mahirap man, may makakasama ka naman, pati syempre sa saya.
Hahaha, on the third year, and thesis? Daming na friendship over 😆
