Hello everyone it's me again @chimegipamus and welcome to my new story. It's been a while since I published my last blog. Life is doing great so far. How about everyone I hope you are all doing well.
This month of June is an undisturbed vacation for all teachers. Wave your hand to all teachers for a well-deserved vacation. We went to the province to visit my husband's family. And to relax and experience the fresh fruits and air of a provincial life.
We also bring our two puppies Chim and Kram to have a new place to play around. It was rainy season again, all farmers were pleased for it was planting season again. Many families in the province were getting ready a month before. The drought affected all the land in the mountains.
As this month arrives, the rain keeps pouring, making the land soft and ready for plowing. My in-laws also were preparing their land by having someone plow the field and clean all the weeds and stones. The land that they have will be planted once again. The last time they planted corn was before typhoon Odette so the soil rested for almost four years to bring back the fatness of it.
I wanted to experience how to plant corn but my husband did not allow me for it was too hard for me. The soil was stony and he was afraid I might get hurt by the pointed stones.
Early in the morning, my in-laws woke up early to prepare and cook food for the people who would help plant the corn. My Nanay prepared a mongo soup which everyone always prepares whenever there is a task like this. I also prepare pork adobo for us.
The people who helped already arrived together with the plower and his carabao with him. The plower started to plow to make a line while the planters followed him and put 3 pieces of corn seeds then covered it with soil until all the area was planted.
Sweats on their forehead were flowing as they planted the seeds while the heat of the sun shone brightly. Each planter was bringing their bolos, wearing their native hats while wrapping around a small vessel field with corn seeds.
As the day was over the entire field was planted. They have their lunch on time and take in between rest. Then a gallon of "tuba" was prepared after a whole day of planting as a reward partnered with "tobacco
". They were also given their payment for the whole day's work.
This is the tradition in the mountains everyone comes to help whether it has a salary or not. When somebody needs help you can call your neighbors and ask them to help you. This is called Bayanihan.

I enjoyed what they were doing, this life in the province refreshes us, and appreciate the farmer's hard work and even the closeness of each neighbor is very far from the people in the city because people in the province are helping each other.
That would be all for today fellow divers, thank you for reaching this far. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, thank you for the time, and have a nice day. See you 🤗
