Family reunions are so much fun

Just got back from four days in the Cape with my son Lee. What a wonderful break we had and what wonderful reconnections with family.

Both Lee and I met my nephew's little girls for the first time. They are 4 and 6 years old.

What beautiful and well-behaved girls. They made us feel so welcome and left a little welcome note on our bedside tables.

Welcome cards for us

Yaya is granny in Greek and since their grandmother passed away we thought it was appropriate that I could be called Yaya (very thrilled about that)

All dressed up for our last day with them

This is Stella on the left and Anna on the right.

Henry fetched us from the airport and took us to a Spur in Muizenberg - giving us a tour on the way.

Later, we met Heather and they made a typical South African Barbecue (braai) for us with chops and Boerewors (sausage) and salad.

We felt very spoilt indeed.

The next day Lee went for an interview in the CBD -

After the interview we drove through to fetch my daughter in law and we went to an amazing restaurant - another celebration for Lee for his birthday. The restaurant is called Chocolat Bistro

What an amazing place. Thank you Les for joining us- a wonderful memory.

Lee chose chicken and prawnI had the steakthe car park

The food was delicious and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area of Durbanville.

We also went to look at some properties in Capetown together and later when we dropped Les (my daughter in law) off - we met her Dad and her sister's children.

Before dropping Les off we decided we would cook supper for the family back home. We bought some chicken to make our famous lemon chicken and I burned the rice but Henry came to the rescue and put a new pot on. I'll have to make my lemon chicken for them on another occasion now.

On the Thursday evening we met Heather's mom and she brought sushi for us. Somehow we missed getting a family photo with Heather's mom. I really enjoyed the sushi.

Earlier that day Lee and I drove to Chapman's Peak where we had a lovely lunch - a treat from my daughter Eden to wish her brother a happy birthday.

Lee has already posted a blog about that - you can read about it here

In my next blog I will share some more adventures with the family.
