Hello, today I am going to tell you about an unforgettable vacation trip that my husband and I took a few years ago.

It was 2002 and some friends invited us to Russia to visit the resort of Sochi.

We arrived in Russia that August and spent a few days in Moscow, visiting very interesting places like museums, cathedrals and the circus, where I was able to take pictures with exotic animals, like a bear or a lioness, of course, with the required security measures.

We also went to a trout farm, in a kind of camp with a beautiful river that served as an environment for a picnic and prepared a delicious barbecue with friends.

We also visited the cosmonauts' city, where we were able to get to know the environment and their work in space.

But the most impressive part of this trip was the days we spent in Sochi, what a beautiful place, it has a very pleasant climate, we went all over the city, in the place where we stayed there was a beautiful vegetation, there were many flowering plants, ferns and others that grow wild.

We visited a cave with a strong smell of sulfur, which impressed me very much by a legend told by the locals of a young princess who had been locked up there and who had died with her beloved in that place.

At the door of the cave there is a grille where people can leave something and make a wish in return, I left there a handkerchief tied to the grille and made my request.

That day on the way back we were caught in the rain, my husband and the friends who were with us took refuge in a place that seemed abandoned, when I entered I found folded on a bench a beautiful embroidered handkerchief, when I showed it to my friends, they told me that I had received it from "Macesta" the princess to whom I had just left mine in the cave, I still keep it with great affection.

The beach is another wonderful place in Sochi, with a temperature of twenty degrees, which for a Cuban would be cold on the island, there it feels very pleasant due to its dry climate, so we spent very good times in the waters of the black sea. My husband was dedicated to collect many stones of different sizes and colors that I still keep.

I was very surprised, when sailing in a boat or on the water bike, that there was a lot of bad water, or jellyfish, here it is poisonous and causes a tremendous burning on the skin when you have had contact with it, there however you can swim with them and they do not harm you.

The nights are unforgettable in Sochi, we almost always went to an open air restaurant, in front of the sea, where we had dinner and listened to good music, we could dance and share with people from different parts of the world, only with the universal language that is music.

The nights in Sochi are very dark, but full of love and hope.

I will never forget those important days in my life and I hope I will get my wish, which is to return one day to the place where I was so happy.

Hola, hoy les voy a contar de un inolvidable viaje de vacaciones que realizamos hace algunos años mi esposo y yo.

Era el año 2002 y unos amigos nos invitaron a Rusia para conocerla y visitar el balneario de Sochi.

Llegamos a Rusia ese agosto y pasamos unos días en Moscu, visitando lugares muy interesantes como museos, catedrales y el circo, donde me pude retratar con animales exóticos, como un oso o una leona, por supuesto, con las medidas de seguridad requeridas.

Fuimos también a un criadero de truchas, en una especie de campamento con un río precioso que nos sirvió de ambiente para un picni y preparamos un asado delicioso, con los amigos.

Visitamos también la ciudad de los cosmonautas, donde pudimos conocer el ambiente y el trabajo de ellos en el espacio.

Pero lo más impresionante de este viaje fue los días que pasamos en Sochi, que lugar más bonito, tiene un clima muy agradable, recorrimos toda la ciudad, en el lugar donde nos hospedamos existía una vegetación bellísima, crecían muchísimas plantas de flores, helechos y otras, que se dan de forma silvestres.

Visitamos una cueva con un olor fuerte ha azufre, la cual me impresionó mucho por una leyenda que cuentan los lugareños de una joven princesa que habían encerrado alli y que había muerto junto a su amado en ese lugar.

En la puerta de la cueva existe una reja donde las personas pueden dejar algo y pedir un deseo a cambio, yo deje allí un pañuelo amarrado a su reja y hice mi pedido.

Ese día de regreso nos cogió una lluvia por el camino, mi esposo y los amigos que iban con nosotros nos refugiamos en un lugar que parecía abandonado, al entrar me encontré doblado sobre un banco un hermoso pañuelo bordado, al enseñarselo a los amigos, ellos me dijeron que lo había recibido de parte de "Macesta" la princesa a la que recién le había dejado el mío en la cueva, aun lo guardo con mucho cariño.

La playa es otro de los lugares maravilloso de Sochi, con una temperatura de veinte grados, lo que para un cubano sería frío en la isla, allí se siente muy agradable debido a su clima seco, por lo que pasamos muy buenos momentos en las aguas del mar negro. Mi esposo se dedicó a recoger muchas piedras de diferentes tamaños y colores que conservo todavía.

Me llamo mucho la atención, al navegar en una lancha o en la bicicleta acuática, que habia mucha agua mala, o medusa, aquí es venenosa y causa un ardor tremendo en la piel cuando has tenido contacto con ella, allí sin embargo puedes nadar junto a ella y no te dañan.

Las noches son inolvidables en Sochi, ibamos casi siempre a un restaurante al aire libre, frente al mar, donde cenábamos y se escuchaba buena música, podíamos bailar y compartir con personas de diferentes partes del mundo, solo con el lenguaje universal que es la música.

Las noches en Sochi son muy oscuras, pero llenas de amor y esperanzas.

Nunca voy a olvidar esos días tan importantes en mi vida y espero se me cumpla mi deseo, que es el de volver algún día al lugar donde fui tan feliz.
