Hello, HIVE COMMUNITY, dear readers. Welcome to my latest blog. I'm Crissiacor. My passion is to share the beauty of going to the mangroves with my friends here in the City of Naga, Cebu.

There is something magical about spending a day outdoors with nature and friends. Just recently, some of my friends and I had an experience that would go down as historical: we went to the Mangroves in Naga City. It all started from the moment we left, and all we could do was be nothing but puzzled by whatever we laid our eyes on. Join me as I take you through our day of adventure, laughter, exploration of ko, and finding beauty in nature.

Meeting Point and Ride in Jeep:

We started our day in Lote 3. We met at Lote 3 to kick off our activity. The anticipation was high, and most of us were chattering away at full speed about what was going to happen the rest of the day. In the end, we finally decided it was best to have a jeepney away and cruise to the mangroves in Inuburan, a cozy little neighboring community in the City of Naga, Cebu. The jeepney ride was such a big, noisy laugh and other kinds of expectations—not unlike the view we passed on our way.

Awaiting Ryan and Setting the Sea Urchin

We reached the road going to Inuburan, and we waited for our friend Ryan, who was so kind enough to accompany us in collecting some sea urchins for our capstone project. We were just taking in the peace and serenity of the environment, enjoying the sounds of nature until, finally, we heard a motorcycle come up. And finally, it's time for Ryan to arrive and our adventure in the mangroves begins.

Exploring the Mangroves:

We crossed the mangroves, and it seemed a world altogether. The greenery, harmony in which roots embraced each other, and a quiet atmosphere were enough to conspire to win our hearts in a moment. We placed our things safely and then started to search out sea urchins with the sticks we picked for support when wandering between the roots. The mangroves were so beautiful and in no time, we were too busy marveling about the ecosystem in every minute detail around us.

Nature Appreciation and Conservation

The more we delved deep into the mangroves, the more we realized the need to conserve this sensitive and fragile habitat. The mangrove was a house not only for all kinds of animals and birds, but it also played a very crucial protective role against any form of erosion and storm surges. So, we all decided to conserve these mangroves because nature had handed them over to us out of love and care for the future.

Harvesting Sea Urchins

Finally, our search was successful, and we found a few of them. We, with much excitement, tore them open, and indeed, inside was a bright yellow delicacy. We knew it was the delicacy of the sea urchins here, so we wanted to taste them. The taste was excellent, and the bright yellow left an unbelievable taste in our mouths.

Heading Home

The sun was setting, and it, too, bid its farewell as reluctantly as did we. It threw darkness over the mangroves, though the air was still swathed in its mysterious charm, and we both knew it was time to say goodbye to this special place. And so, in gratefulness and in a promise to the mangroves that this day be remembered for all time, we shared that we would visit this magical sanctuary time and again. What a great day we spent with our friends, exploring the mangroves within and around Naga. We are first amazed by its beauty and then its silence, this call to conserve and preserve this precious ecosystem—the very last untouched so that the generations to come can enjoy it. I recommend going there if you ever get a chance. Just allow Google Maps to search for this treasure, and you will be amazed at what nature offers.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. —Robert Louis Stevenson

The place is nice Ma'am @crissiacor and it is a good idea that they preserved the mangroves and make it as a tourist attraction.
