Cuban traditions

in Family & Friends11 months ago

Hello everyone and happy end of the year. In my country it is customary to celebrate this time of the year with the family. It is tradition in all provinces to kill a pig or a ram.It can be made in many ways, both baked, fried and in friscases. The most common in all places is hazado, where you begin to eat the outer skin and then the delicious meat.

In addition, the famous Moro rice is cooked, also known as arroz congris. and the preparation of salad and biandas.

Various bites are also made with cheese and ham. And you start drinking the famous beer "Crystal" and "Parranda". This drink acquired its name because of the famous Parrandas, which take place once a year, in different communities such as Guayo, Zaza del Medio and Remedio, the latter being the most recognized by all of us. These celebrations are always held in the streets where two neighborhoods from those places compete to see who is the winner. Balladors are also thrown and danced to the sound of the Cuban Conga . Then you start playing dominoes.

All preparations are made outside the house and the food is prepared in the traditional way, or as it is better known "cooking with firewood".

There is also the good custom of making various sweets to enjoy after a very satisfying dinner. Among the most common are flan, custard and panetelas, also known as "cake."

It is also very common to create a doll to burn, which means burning the bad things of the entire year. We also throw a bucket of water into the street so we can throw out the bad things in our home and run with a suitcase so that all our trips and goals can be accomplished in the new year.

This is one of the stages that I like the most. Happy New Year's Eve and prosperous 2024...

Blessings and success.
