Ya está siendo el tiempo de sacar los cuerpos al sol veraniego. Esta época del año que los cubanos tan acostumbrada tienen (en Cuba el calor es eterno y, a veces, extremo hasta en el invierno) ya va asomando la cabeza, ya se siente la humedad creciente y las tardes de nubes que esperamos con deseos para que llueva y "refresque" jajá. Este tiempo sin duda trae recuerdos de la infancia y de lo maravilloso que es ser cubano.
It is already time to take our bodies out to the summer sun. This time of the year that Cubans are so used to (in Cuba the heat is eternal and, sometimes, extreme even in winter) is already showing its head, we can already feel the growing humidity and the cloudy afternoons that we wait with desires for rain and "refreshing" hahaha. This weather undoubtedly brings back memories of childhood and of how wonderful it is to be Cuban.
En estas fechas, donde la universidad ha dado un poco de receso de las actividades docentes mi novia y yo decidimos salir a buscar esas maravillosas tardes de sol y salitre.
Encontramos una buena opción, visitar a mis tíos que viven en Playa Baracoa, Artemisa, Cuba. Y mira, la playa ya formaba parte del apresurado plan. No disponíamos de muchos días.
In these dates, where the university has given a little break from teaching activities, my girlfriend and I decided to go out to look for those wonderful afternoons of sun and salt.
We found a good option, to visit my aunt and uncle who live in Playa Baracoa, Artemisa, Cuba. And look, the beach was already part of the hasty plan. We did not have many days.
Playa Baracoa la componen las zonas de Hollywood, la cual se distingue por sus negocios de alquiler de viviendas, cafeterías, discoteca, playas y por la presencia del Hotel Baracoa; Los Cocos, caracterizada por tener un gran número de militares (Mi tío militar retirado) y pilotos entre sus habitantes; La Loma, un lugar de pescadores que se agrupa a lo largo de gran parte del río Baracoa; el poblado Baracoa, que se extiende en toda la parte norte de la laguna del Doctor.
Playa Baracoa is made up of the areas of Hollywood, which is distinguished by its housing rental businesses, cafeterias, discotheque, beaches and the presence of the Hotel Baracoa; Los Cocos, characterized by having a large number of military (My retired military uncle) and pilots among its inhabitants; La Loma, a place of fishermen that is grouped along much of the Baracoa River; the Baracoa village, which extends throughout the northern part of the Doctor's lagoon.
Fue en gran parte un viaje cansino, el carro demoraba muchísimo y hacia muchísimas paradas. La verdad es que la paciencia no es mi mejor virtud. En cuanto a ella que decirles paciencia es su segundo apellido les muestro imágenes de su viaje.
It was a very tiring trip, the car took a long time and made a lot of stops. The truth is that patience is not my best virtue. As for her, patience is her second last name, I show you some pictures of her trip.
Llegamos a el esperado destino, nos recibieron con muchísimo amor, mis tíos son excelentes personas y es muy visible en su forma de actuar. Durante el viaje me llamaron al teléfono móvil en múltiples ocasiones para preguntar por dónde íbamos. Ellos viven solos, y lo que más aprecian de sus sobrinos son las visitas cargadas de muchos besos y de horas de conversaciones.
We arrived at the expected destination, we were received with a lot of love, my uncles are excellent people and it is very visible in the way they act. During the trip they called me on my cell phone several times to ask where we were going. They live alone, and what they appreciate most from their nephews and nieces are the visits loaded with many kisses and hours of conversations.
Para mi novia era una primera presentación, la conocían en este momento y para mi sorpresa fue muy fácil, tuvieron muy rápido, repito muy rápido confianza para hablar, sobre todo. Hubo momentos en que hubiera deseado que callara, mi tía es un "loro" y mi novia le seguía la conversación. Llegue a pensar que no íbamos a ir a la playa. Aquello no iba a tener fin.
For my girlfriend it was a first introduction, they knew her at this moment and to my surprise it was very easy, they had very fast, I repeat very fast confidence to talk, above all. There were times when I wished she would have kept quiet, my aunt is a "parrot" and my girlfriend followed her conversation. I came to think that we were not going to go to the beach. There was going to be no end to it.
Pasamos una tarde maravillosa hablando y compartiendo, ya cuando caía el sol, que se acercaba el atardecer, salimos a la ansiada playa.
We spent a wonderful afternoon talking and sharing, and when the sun was setting, as dusk was approaching, we went out to the long-awaited beach.
Con cariño, le explique a mi novia que íbamos a disfrutar del atardecer y que dejáramos los teléfonos a un lado, y que luego de pasar el momento en pareja, nos tomaríamos las fotos y todo lo que ella quisiera.
With affection, I explained to my girlfriend that we were going to enjoy the sunset and that we should put our phones aside, and that after spending the moment as a couple, we would take pictures and anything else she wanted.
La playa se extiende a lo largo de un tramo de aproximadamente dos kilómetros en la zona de Hollywood de arena blanca, aunque un poco descuidada y sucia, que se extiende hasta la costa. La playa está rodeada de palmeras, que se extienden a lo largo de la costa, dando una vista hermosa y relajante.
The beach stretches along a stretch of approximately two kilometers in the Hollywood area of white sand, albeit a bit neglected and dirty, extending all the way to the coast. The beach is surrounded by palm trees, which stretch along the coast, giving a beautiful and relaxing view.
Para los amantes del sol, la arena y el mar. Esta playa es de aguas cristalinas, azules y verdes. Es perfecta para nadar, hacer snorkel, bucear, se ve, durante los fines de semana, muchos turistas haciendo windsurf y vela.
For sun, sand and sea lovers. This beach is crystal clear, blue and green waters. It is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, diving, it is seen, during the weekends, many tourists windsurfing and sailing.
Inicialmente nos adueñamos de una mesa de madera que se encuentra junto al muelle, allí observamos juntos el mar, y agradecimos el uno al otro por ese gran momento y por estar juntos. Forma parte de nuestra relación, esa costumbre de agradecer al otro la oportunidad de compartir momentos juntos y valorar cada segundo de esos momentos. En muchas ocasiones por situaciones de la vida hemos tenido que alejarnos físicamente por algún tiempo y creo que eso ha hecho que valoremos tanto poder estar juntitos.
Initially we took possession of a wooden table next to the dock, there we watched the sea together, and thanked each other for that great moment and for being together. It is part of our relationship, this habit of thanking each other for the opportunity to share moments together and to value every second of those moments. On many occasions due to life situations we have had to be physically away from each other for some time and I think that has made us value being together so much.
Ya luego de tanto romanticismo, pasamos a la diversión y a las fotos jaajaja. Compramos cerveza en un negocio cercano y bueno a tomar se ha dicho. Tengo que declarar que el agua salada, el sol y la cerveza son un equipo inseparable. Disfrutar luego de deshidratarte en sol y los tragos de agua salada, la cerveza baja por la garganta como si fuera agua fresca en el desierto.
After so much romanticism, we moved on to fun and photos hahaha. We bought beer in a nearby store and well, let's drink. I have to declare that salt water, sun and beer are an inseparable team. Enjoy after dehydrating in the sun and the salt water shots, the beer goes down your throat like fresh water in the desert.
En esta ocasión varias veces fuimos a la playa, en la tarde noche salimos a comer a un restaurant cercano. Compartimos junto con amistades e hicimos muchas historias. Pedimos para comer pizza de cebolla (es mi favorita y la de ella también), su única desventaja es que, luego de comerla, hay que combatir el aliento ajajaja; pero de excelente calidad, tomamos piña colada y tostones de plátano relleno de jamón. Todo el disfrute junto a la presencia de nuestras amistades, a la cual le agradezco mucho han estado ahí para mí durante muchos años.
On this occasion we went to the beach several times, in the evening we went out to eat at a nearby restaurant. We shared with friends and made many stories. We ordered to eat onion pizza (it is my favorite and hers too), its only disadvantage is that, after eating it, you have to fight the breath hahaha; but of excellent quality, we had piña colada and plantain tostones stuffed with ham. All the enjoyment together with the presence of our friends, to which I am very grateful to have been there for me for many years.
Este viaje, fue muy importante para mí, por sobre todas las cosas me llevo algo para la vida. No importa el lugar donde estes, es de suma importancia para el pleno disfrute de un buen viaje o vacación la compañía de alguien. Y no me limito a simplemente alguien; sino a alguien que haga de esos momentos algo verdaderamente mágico, que los colores de los atardeceres sean más brillantes e importantes. Quiero agradecer a mi novia por ese día especial donde decidimos liberarnos de la tecnología, valorar la compañía del otro y disfrutar de lo maravilloso de una tarde de sol, agua salada, amor, cervezaaaa!!! y aire fresco.
This trip was very important for me, above all, I took something for life. No matter where you are, it is of utmost importance for the full enjoyment of a good trip or vacation the company of someone. And I don't limit myself to just someone; but someone who makes those moments truly magical, who makes the colors of the sunsets brighter and more important. I want to thank my girlfriend for that special day where we decided to free ourselves from technology, value each other's company and enjoy the wonder of an afternoon of sun, salt water, love, beeeer!!! and fresh air.
Estuvimos durante cuatro días, que admito, fueron muy cortos junto con mis tíos y el momento de volver a el mundo de los adultos y las responsabilidades volvía. Así que, con el agradable recuerdo, la mejor sonrisa y la paz que disfrutamos era momento de retomar el diario.
We stayed for four days, which I admit, were very short together with my uncles and aunts and it was time to return to the world of adults and responsibilities. So, with the pleasant memories, the best smile and the peace we enjoyed it was time to resume the diary.
