Today I want to share with you how I celebrated my niece's birthday.
I had only met with my niece twice, before yesterday. When she was a baby and when she was only two years old. Since the last time we met, I had only seen her face in video calls. She turned five yesterday, and I decided to give her a surprise.
I journeyed from ilorin Nigeria to Lagos Nigeria on sunday. I told her dad (my brother) not to inform her.
On monday I went to the market to get some baking ingredients so I could bake a small cake for her a my little contribution to her fifth birthday.
I had planned earlier on taking her to a photo studio to take some nice shots but her dad told me that they had done that already, so I thought something else that could make her feel special since it would be the first time that I would be getting involved in her birthday celebration.
I decided that I would take her out so we could have fun and spend some time together, though I don't know places in Lagos.
I told her dad to tell some of her friends so we could go catch fun together.
Her dad told her friends about catching fun with their friend on her birthday, without getting her informed.
I placed a video call through to them, I told my niece that I would be around to celebrate her and I would be taking her and her friends out for fun, she smiled but she couldn't believe me since I had always told her that I don't know places in Lagos.
On Tuesday which was her birthday, I made sure she had left for school before I arrived the house. I prepared for a mini indoor party😊
When she was back from school, she couldn't help but to give me a tight hug for minutes as it was the first time we would be meeting in a long time. We played, danced and prayed.
After the party, I reminded her of my promise over the phone the previous day. She list expected that I was serious indeed. So I, her friends and of course the celebrant went to a children park that I could afford.
We all had fun and when it was getting cloudy we headed back home.
Love your niece's hairstyle, especially in that top photo. Thanks to you, she must have had a very happy birthday. :)
