Super controversial headline and you want to check it out- maybe weigh in with your opinion, which, by the way, is heavily influenced by the culture you were raised in and your religious persuasion.
But you can relax and enjoy this post knowing I was the Pastor officiating the wedding! The headline is still true and to prove it here we all are!
Invitation
The phone rang and I saw the call was coming from Cheyenne and I was more than happy to hear from her. She was a long term friend I hadn’t seen in many years due to living in different states and she had some exciting news. She was getting married!!! The smile on my face stretched ear to ear as I was so happy for her. My huge smile was joined by tears in my eyes as the emotion of her next question caught me off guard. “Will you marry us?”
I’d been a Pastor less than a year - so never her Pastor, and felt super privileged to be asked for this honour. I said yes and made plans for our family to stay with friends up there. They had this beautiful black cockatoo that got to perch on our shoulders.
The day of the wedding came and the weather couldn’t have been better. I was almost as nervous as the bride and groom but managed to officiate without stuffing up or stealing the limelight. A beautiful sunny day for the ceremony was farewelled with this sunset that smiled upon the happy couple and their guests.
We partied late into the night in what seemed like a surreal wonderland. The brides father and other family members had worked hard at building a dance floor and the kids made great use of it. They also built a bar, some food carts, our tables we sat around and this amazing cake swing seen alongside the bride and groom.
