Kris-Kringle is everywhere, especially now that Christmas is fast approaching. If you have been following my blog since the beginning, you'll recall that I've shared our Kris-Kringle tradition with you, together with @prettyunicorn and @lifewithkaye. This is the third year and third exchange of presents. Every year, we create a theme, and this year's topic is "something useful."
But, before we went to what transpired on that day, we almost postponed it because of too many circumstances. We don't have the same day off, we work at different times, and we're not sure how we'll buy a gift when two of us work at night and the mall is often closed when we get to the office, and we can't get up early since we're too exhausted and have other commitments. But we made it possible because we don't want to miss it, and Kaye will be spending Christmas and New Year in Batangas so we have to do it before her flight.
We chose to do our Kris-Kringle in the morning after our shift because we didn't have time in the afternoon. We decided to go to a coffee shop because most restaurants were closed at that hour. We wanted to go to Starbucks near our office, but it was currently closed, so we went to IT Park instead. We opted to stay at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf instead because it is open 24 hours a day.
We were very excited, and as we entered the coffee shop, we were fortunate that it was not crowded, and the aroma of the coffee just added to our excitement. We chose the best spot for the three of us, and because they have tables upstairs, we went upstairs, left our bags, and returned downstairs to place our order. We all get our beverages and pair them with bread because we hadn't eaten during our lunch break at work and were famished.
We headed upstairs to wait for our coffee and began talking about how we had all been doing for the past several months since we hadn't seen each other, especially Kaye, who is now working in a different company. And, despite the fact that I and Yor work for the same company, we have very little time to chat because we are both busy with our tasks and mentoring CSAs.
We decided to start giving each other gifts in the middle of our conversation. I bought a coin purse from CLN because Kaye adored coin purses and a handy bag from Penshoppe for Yor. Our letter for one another is contained within the bag. This is the most touching part since I kept the letter they gave me when we first started doing this small custom. Kaye received a small bag from Yor, and Yor received a shirt from Penshoppe, which is strange because I and Kaye both chose to purchase our gifts from the same store, and the strangest part was that they both gave me a towel. lol
But I will be always grateful for their gift because it is very handy, especially during my occasional short travel.
So that's all for now hivers, I know we will all have our little Kris-kringle so you should start planning what to give to your Manitos & Manitas, have fun and happy holidays!
