A different night. It was the one we had yesterday with Celina, the most beautiful grandmother. She is the sweetest woman in the world. And since she is the one I take care of the most, we went for a treat we had been looking forward to for a long time and we went to a club. Yes, as I told you, a neighborhood club with more than 100 years old but still intact. For a neighborhood club I must admit that the level of elegance is a lot compared to the number of clubs I know where everything is much more primary.
Lots of wood cladding arches, walls and doors made the place a particular historical space where you had no choice but to accept that the place was really soooo many years old. From the entrance to the restaurant there was a long stretch where we saw courts of all kinds. There were halls for members' celebrations, recreational spaces, a playground, and we even found a library and a hall where a classical music orchestra practices.
After a brief tour of the club we arrived at the entrance of the place to be greeted with a huge smile and invited in. They were kind enough to make a place for us because all the tables were occupied, but since we went with our grandmother, they invented a little table on the side in an adjoining room where, a little later, the magic would happen.
We sat down and they were already waiting for us with something to drink as a welcome and immediately came to bring us the menu. We went to try the star of the house. The tenderized osso buco. We ordered it along with a delicious wine and immediately started to enjoy it.
My grandmother was delighted with the place and besides being in a secluded room, we were safe from the hustle and bustle of the crowd. We toasted and I wished myself good luck for the trip I am taking. My vacation!
We got excited and gave each other a big hug wishing to travel together again soon.
The waiter arrived and with him, the main actress. We were served right away and without wasting any time we set out to eat that beautiful and delicious dish. On the side there was a small jar for us to add sauce to the meat and a very generous portion of mashed potatoes to accompany the dish.
At the second bite, while we were ruminating like lionesses in heat because of the deliciousness of the food next to us behind a wall. Classical music was playing. There was the club band at their practice time. Quite an experience.
We ended up having an unforgettable experience where we ate with an orchestra in the background playing the most beautiful classical music for us and they also played some Piazolla tangos for grandma who loves Astor.
To top it off we ordered a tiramisu which I ate by myself because grandma was full. So it was all for me.
A great night to treasure and say goodbye to Buenos Aires until next month.
Una noche diferente. Fue la que tuvimos ayer con Celina, la más linda de las abuelas. La mujer más dulce del mundo es ella. Y como es la que más cuido nos fuimos a dar un gustito que hace tiempo teníamos ganas y nos acercamos a un club. Si como les dije, un club de barrio con más de 100 años de antigüedad pero con la vigencia intacta. Para ser un club de barrio debo reconocer que el nivel de elegancia es un montón comparado con la cantidad de clubes que conozco en donde es mucho más primario todo.
Mucha madera revistiendo arcadas, paredes y puertas hacían del lugar un particular espacio histórico en donde no te quedaba otra opción que aceptar que ese lugar tenía muuuuuchos años de verdad. Desde la entrada hasta el restaurante había un trecho largo por el que vimos canchas de todo tipo. Salones de festejo de sus socios, espacios de recreación, una plaza de juegos, y nos encontramos hasta una biblioteca y un salón en donde practica una orquesta de música clásica.
Después de hacer una breve excursión por el club llegamos a la entrada del lugar para que nos reciban con una sonrisa enorme y nos inviten a pasar. Tuvieron la delicadeza de hacernos un lugar porque tenían todas las mesas ocupadas, pero como fuimos con la abuela nos inventaron una mesita a un costado en un salón contiguo en donde un rato después, sucedería la magia.
Nos sentamos y ya estaban esperándonos con algo para tomar como bienvenida y enseguida vinieron a traernos la carta. Fuimos a probar la estrella de la casa. El osobuco tiernizado. Lo pedimos junto con un rico vino y enseguida nos pusimos a disfrutar.
Mi abuela estaba encantada con el lugar y además al estar en un salón apartados, estábamos a salvo del bullicio de la gente. Brindamos y me deseo buenaventura por el viaje que estoy asumiendo. Mis vacaciones!
Nos emocionamos y nos dimos un gran abrazo deseando volver a viajar juntos en breve.
Llegó el mozo y con él, la actriz principal. Nos sirvieron enseguida y sin perder tiempo nos dispusimos a comer ese hermoso y tan delicioso plato. Al costado tenía un jarrito para que podamos agregarle salsa a la carne y una porción muy generosa de puré que acompañaba el plato.
Al segundo bocado, mientras no parábamos de rumiar como leonas en celo por lo delicioso de la comida al costado nuestro por detrás de una pared. Música clásica sonaba. Estaba la banda del club en su horario de práctica. Todo una experiencia.
Terminamos teniendo una experiencia inolvidable en donde comimos con una orquesta de fondo tocando para nosotros música clásica de la más linda y además se tocaron unos tangos de Piazolla para la abuela que le encanta Astor.
Para coronar nos pedimos un tiramisú que me lo comí solo porque la abuela estaba llena. Asique todo para mi.
Una gran noche para atesorar y despedirme de Buenos Aires hasta el Próximo mes.
Hermoso lugar, la comida ni hablar, se ve deliciosa.
