El estado Mérida es un lugar repleto de montañas, ríos y quebradas, ideal para pasar unas merecidas vacaciones y así decidimos hacerlo un grupo de docentes de la escuela donde laboro junto a familiares y amigos, dónde la encargada de la excursión fue la directora de la institución quien estubo a cargo de buscar la encava, posada y merienda para dicha aventura. Este estado se ubica en la región de los andes y su capital es la ciudad de Mérida, allá se localiza una de las cumbres más altas, el pico Bolívar el cual lamentablemente no pudimos visitar.
The state of Mérida is a place full of mountains, rivers and streams, ideal for spending a well-deserved vacation and so we decided to make it a group of teachers from the school where I work together with family and friends, where the person in charge of the excursion was the director of the institution who was in charge of looking for the encava, inn and snack for said adventure. This state is located in the Andes region and its capital is the city of Mérida, there is located one of the highest peaks, the Bolívar peak which unfortunately we could not visit.
Nuestra aventura comenzó el día jueves 28/07/2022 saliendo del estado Portuguesa a las 5am y ya a las 10am nos encontrábamos subiendo el páramo, nuestra primera parada fue en Barinitas para desayunar y aprovechar para ir al baño, luego nos encontramos el parador turístico El velo de la novia, la cual se encuentra a unos quince minutos de Santo Domingo a un lado de la carretera, cuyo ambiente es extraordinario, alli nos llovió un poco, pero no impidió que bajaramos para visitarlo.
Our adventure began on Thursday 07/28/2022 leaving Portuguesa state at 5am and already at 10am we were going up the paramo, our first stop was in Barinitas to have breakfast and take the opportunity to go to the bathroom, then we find the tourist hostel El velo de la novia, which is located about fifteen minutes from Santo Domingo on the side of the road, whose atmosphere is extraordinary, allinos it rained a little, but it did not prevent us from going down to visit it.
Continuamos a Santo Domingo, nos encontramos la casa de los pasteles I y la casa de las truchas. Allí tomamos nuestras respectivas fotografías y muchos aprovecharon para comprar sus fresas con cremas y no podía faltar los recuerdos en "Yo amo Mérida".
We continue to Santo Domingo, we find the house of cakes I and the house of trout. There we took our respective photographs and many took the opportunity to buy their strawberries with creams and the memories in "Yo amo Mérida" could not be missing.
Seguimos subiendo y nos encontramos con la casa de los pasteles II y un ambiente con unas vistas espectacular.
We continue going up and we find the house of cakes II and an environment with spectacular views.
Llegamos a la Laguna de Mucubaji, allí el frío estaba muy fuerte, ya que se encontraba muy nublado y no se pudo apreciar su belleza totalmente, varios de lo que andábamos solo bajaron a tomar la respectiva fotografía.
We arrived at the Mucubaji Lagoon, there the cold was very strong, since it was very cloudy and its beauty could not be fully appreciated, several of those who were walking only went down to drink the respective photograph.
Cuando nos encontrábamos subiendo mucuchies la encava se nos accidentó, por lo cual bajamos a pies mientras los choferes solucionaban el problema en ese recorrido llegamos al Museo de antigüedades la Loca Luz Caraballo y luego más abajo el Refugio turístico Mifafi dónde se aprovechó para almorzar mientras solucionaban el percance de la buseta.
When we were going up Mucuchies, the encava had an accident, so we went down on foot while the drivers solved the problem on that route, we arrived at the Museum of Antiquities the Loca Luz Caraballo and then further down the Mifafi Tourist Shelter where they took the opportunity to have lunch while they solved the mishap with the bus.
Después de solucionar el problema, la encava paso buscándonos por el Refugio turístico para llevarnos a la capilla de piedra, la cual fue construida íntegramente por Juan Félix Sánchez usando rocas, corales, conchas y cemento con ayuda de otras personas de su pueblo. Seguidamente visitamos el monumento al perro Nevado, pero lamentablemente no se encontraba el perro mucuchies para tomarse la respectiva fotografía. Culminamos el día súper agotados hasta llegar a la posada Guamanchii lugar de nuestro hospedaje muy cerca de la plaza las heroínas.
After solving the problem, the encava came looking for us at the Tourist Refuge to take us to the stone chapel, which was built entirely by Juan Félix Sánchez using rocks, corals, shells and cement with the help of other people from his village. Next we visited the monument to the Snowy dog, but unfortunately the mucuchies dog was not there to take the respective photograph. We finished the day super exhausted until we reached the Guamanchii inn, place of our lodging very close to the heroines square.
Al día siguiente luego de desayunar comenzamos la ruta hacia el Acuario donde cabe acotar que dicha entrada es completamente gratis, allí fuimos guiados por un trabajador del lugar donde nos dió la explicación de los peces que allí se encuentran. Posteriormente de nuestra visita nos fuimos almorzar en el mercado principal donde los platos son bastante accesibles sobre todo en El sazón de la merideñita y dónde se puede encontrar todo tipo de artesanía, dulces, licores artesanales entre muchas cosas más.
The next day after breakfast we started the route to the Aquarium where it should be noted that said entrance is completely free, there we were guided by a worker from the place where he gave us the explanation of the fish found there. After our visit we went to have lunch in the main market where the dishes are quite accessible, especially in El sazón de la merideñita and where you can find all kinds of crafts, sweets, artisan liquors among many other things.
Continuamos con nuestro recorrido hasta el centro y pasamos por la heladería 1000 sabores ganadora del premio al récord Guinnes por ser la heladería con más sabores de helado del mundo, aunque mis dos compañeras y yo nos fuimos por los tradicionales fresa y mora, pero otros si se atrevieron a probar el de aguacate y caraota diciendo que era bien sabrosos, estando allí nos encontramos con un guía turístico el cual nos llevó a conocer el estadio Metropolitano de Mérida y el Rincón de los muchachos donde los niños y adultos se divierten en las atracciones que hay allí aunque se encuentra un poco abandonado, ya finalizada la noche llegamos a la posada y luego de allí a la plaza las heroínas, puesto que es más atractiva de noche.
We continue our tour to the center and pass by the 1000 flavors ice cream parlor, winner of the Guinness record award for being the ice cream parlor with the most ice cream flavors in the world, although my two companions and I went for the traditional strawberry and blackberry, but others did dare to try the avocado and caraota, saying that it was very tasty, being there we found a tour guide who took us to see the Metropolitan Stadium of Mérida and the Corner of the boys where children and adults have fun in the attractions that are there although It is a bit abandoned, after the night we arrived at the posada and then from there to the plaza las heroínas, since it is more attractive at night.
Al día siguiente luego de descansar nuestra primera parada fue al parque zoológico Chorros de Milla, parque de ciencia y tecnología y jardín botánico cuyo costo de las entradas de cada lugar están en 2$ los adultos, 1$ los niños y tercera edad. En el parque zoológico podemos encontrar animales de distintas especies y abre sus puertas a partir de las 9am hasta las 6pm, por su parte el museo de ciencia es un espacio de promoción lúdica dónde encontramos varias atracciones para niños y adultos además cuentan con guías que explican dichas atracciones y una laguna donde podrás pasear en bote. En el jardín botánico encontramos bambú, la colección de bromelias más grande de todo el país y una preciosa laguna que se puede atravesar por el puente de los deseos y para los más aventureros han incluído tirolesas, allí también se puede hacer camping siempre y cuando se cuide las áreas del jardín. Seguimos al mercado principal nuevamente para almorzar y salir después directamente hacia el parque de los niños, plaza Bolívar, iglesia y catedral. Culminando ese día temprano para ir a descansar, otros prefirieron ir nuevamente a la plaza las heroínas.
The next day, after resting, our first stop was the Chorros de Milla Zoo, a science and technology park and a botanical garden whose entrance fees for each place are in $2 for adults, $1 for children and seniors. In the zoo we can find animals of different species and opens its doors from 9am to 6pm, for its part, the science museum is a playful promotion space where we find several attractions for children and adults they also have guides that explain these attractions and a lagoon where you can take a boat ride. In the botanical garden we find bamboo, the largest collection of bromeliads in the entire country and a beautiful lagoon that can be crossed by the bridge of desires and for the more adventurous they have included zip lines, there you can also camp as long as the garden areas are taken care of. We continue to the main market again to have lunch and then go directly to the children's park, Bolivar square, church and cathedral. Ending that day early to go to rest, others preferred to go back to the plaza las heroínas.
Para nuestro último día en esta ciudad llegamos a las aguas termales de la musuy, el cual cuenta con un recorrido aproximado de 40 minutos de caminata dependiendo de la actividad física de cada persona. Cabe destacar que el transporte sube hasta donde se encuentra las oficinas de registro y el costo para dicha aventura es 2$ adultos y 1$ niños y adultos mayores, 6$ a caballo solo hasta la antena, la pendiente es bantante fuerte pero logramos subirla realizando los respectivos descansos para tomar aire e hidratarnos un poco hasta llegar a la antena, luego de allí el camino es plano para disfrutar de esa maravilla que nos regala la naturaleza. También existe una zona para acampar para los aventureros, luego de bajar de las aguas termales llegamos al final de nuestro paseo y volvimos a Santo Domingo dónde la mayoría aprovecho para almorzar y continuar nuestro recorrido a casa en el estado Portuguesa. Durante este viaje nos fuimos 4 días y 3 noches para disfrutar de todos esos lugares maravillosos del estado Mérida.
For our last day in this city we arrived at the hot springs of the musuy, which has an approximate 40-minute walk depending on the physical activity of each person. It should be noted that transportation goes up to where the registration offices are located and the cost for said adventure is $2 for adults and $1 for children and older adults, 6$ on horseback only to the antenna, the slope is quite steep but we managed to climb it taking the respective breaks to get some air and hydrate ourselves a bit until we reach the antenna, After that, the path is flat to enjoy that wonder that nature gives us. There is also a camping area for adventurers, after coming down from the hot springs we reached the end of our walk and returned to Santo Domingo where most of them took the opportunity to have lunch and and continue our journey home to the Portuguesa state. During this trip we went 4 days and 3 nights to enjoy all those wonderful places in the state of Mérida.
