The Unplanned Birthday Surprise for my Sister ❤️

Hello, Hivers👋! How's everyone? Hope all are well. Are we all ready for another year of challenges?

Today I will share with you our unplanned birthday surprise for my sister. We only celebrated it with her every 2 years since she is working abroad as OFW. She got home only every after two years.

The kids were very excited since they knew we were going to the beach. This is our way of celebrating her birthday on this second day of the month.

We went to Maravilla Beach at Tabuelan, Cebu. This place was well-known because of its white, fine sand. Kids were a bit disappointed because of the low level of seawater. But I was amazed by the white sand at the seashore.

The low tide won't stop the kids from enjoying. They ran over the sea ground until they reached where there was water. We are not worried because the sea water level is so low that they can swim at their level only. I could see in their faces the joy and excitement.

Good thing we brought our mat. We place it on the white sand and let our aunt take a rest for a while. She could take a rest under the shadow of the tree. We got the perfect spot in this place.

After a few hours, the sea level started to rise. The kids are now even enjoying their swimming moment.

Then our spot became crowded. The heat of the sun already peeking. So we decided to go home.

A Little Story

Since my sister provided for some of our necessities. She always thinks of what we need before herself. She always has the idea to surprise us on our birthdays, especially to the kids. She calls ahead of time and makes me her accomplice to have a successful birthday surprise celebration for the kids.

When she talks to the kids, she always has this "I have a lot of payables this month, maybe next time I will send for your birthday". The kids would just have to understand. But to their amazement, on that day they would receive a special birthday present from her. It's either a cake, (money cake preferably) or a birthday celebration/party.

These are all her plans and ideas... And since I am her accomplice, I didn't expect her to make a surprise for me. Then on my last year's birthday, as they all know I love to drink coffee so much, and then she made my mother and sister her accomplices. They put money in my coffee cup and forced me to have coffee very early in the morning. So, I don't know if I would call that coffee money? Cup money? Money cup? 😂😂

Back To Present

Since we all got home she was left at the beach together with her in-laws and other relatives of her husband. My eldest sister and I hurriedly went to the market to buy some ingredients for the recipes she was going to cook. We helped her in cooking the food. I then went to pick up the cake that I ordered which was "my version of surprise".

After preparing bam-e, lumpia, roasted chicken (we bought from the store 😊), watermelon and the cake, we then set up the table and put some birthday decorations.

The table is set for some minutes but we still don't have an idea if they will get home early or what?🤔. So we will just wait here outside 🤭, thinking what if they do not come home? We have to finish all the food that we prepare 🤭🤭.

Then, after a while, they arrived 🤗, the children were very happy and cheering and even singing Happy Birthday already. We know she was shocked. The smile on her face was fixed until we sang her the happy birthday song.

This is the first time she has blown a cake with us after she left abroad 🥲😢.

The Cake

She didn't expect anything, but the kids knew the form of the cake that there was something to be pulled off 🤭. They were telling their aunt to pull every decoration on the top of the cake and they burst into laughter. There was something on the last stick that she pulled.

Can you guess what she will be pulled? We'll, she is our provider so what can you expect? I compile some receipts from money remittances up to the bills and other expenditures that she shoulders for us. This made her laugh and I can feel the joy in her heart.

All we want is to have her laugh on her big day and even if we have sometimes a misunderstanding, we always make it up together. We may not be that capable of giving her something but staying and supporting her in her decisions was enough for her. We will always be a Family.
