A Glimpse into the Past: A Photo Gallery Tour

in Family & Friends3 months ago (edited)

The old photos that were in our gallery symbolize memories with people whom we love: our friends, our family, our classmates, or even our neighbors. It’s a piece of memory that we can look at if we miss that certain person. Even a simple picture holds different memories. Our pictures are our recollection that something happened in the past; maybe in that one picture we cried or we’re happy. Annyeonghaseyo, my dear Hivers. It’s me again, your friend @jenajean.

As I was scrolling through my phone gallery, I came across some hilarious photos that reminded me of our yagit days. Back then, we were so carefree, not giving a second thought to how we looked. Our only priorities were to maintain perfect attendance and graduate.

Meet my childhood friends, @swtzyserrah and Marjoven. We've been inseparable since elementary school, and as neighbors, it was easy to bond and spend time together. Before smartphones became ubiquitous, we entertained ourselves with various games like "Bahay bahayan" (where we cooked with plants and used wrappers as money), "rubber band," "tong its," "teks card," "marbles", "slipper game" and etc.

I still remember playing "Bahay bahayan" in the backyard of Marjoven's house. We were so many, laughing and having a blast, until Kim ruined the fun; he destroyed it. Even though we were initially mad, we quickly forgave him and continued playing together. Those were carefree days, and it seemed like life had no worries.

Our school was quite far from our homes, requiring almost a 25-minute walk. We were each other's constant companions, forming an unbreakable trio. Our parents were even aware of our close bond. Even after graduating from elementary school, nothing changed. In fact, our friendship grew even stronger in high school.

This photo is from when we were in grade 9. I'm the one wearing the jacket. We were incredibly close with our classmates, and there was no sense of competition. We simply bonded and supported each other. Those were truly golden days.

I'm with @tellsbymoren and @swtzyserrah in this picture. We always pose with the peace sign. I'm the one who was in the center. The memories last long forever.

We would often chat and decide if we would go to Marjoven's house. Our bond back then was much different from what it is now. We're all so busy with our college lives that it's difficult to spend time together as frequently. We can only meet up when we have free time.

Our high school was close to our elementary school, so our routine remained the same. We walked to school and walked home every day. Despite the distance, we never complained because we were determined to graduate. This photo is from our final defense for our research in senior high school. We were in the same group, and thankfully, we made it successfully.

These are the three of us. It’s @swtzyserah in the center.

I forgot who took this photo or who owned it; it's just in my gallery.

Research is undoubtedly hard and challenging. I still remember how much we complained about it. We spent countless hours working on the papers, and we were frustrated when our respondents didn't cooperate with us through Google Forms. The pandemic made everything even more difficult. However, despite all the obstacles, we persevered and made it through.

It's always me and @swtzyserrah who love taking pictures; we love taking selfies.

It's pandemic time, so we wore masks.

And of course, we graduated from senior high school as ABM students. All the hard work, complaints, procrastination, and everything else paid off. Holding that diploma felt surreal and incredibly satisfying.
The photographer was the one who took these photos; I don't know his name.
