Hello Hive!
Got a number of pending and overdue posts now - travels, dine-outs, family bondings, and whatnot. Photos after photos had already piled up, fully consuming my phone storage. So, gonna be transferring them all here, giving them a permanent huge space where I could go check anytime. And for today's post, I'll be sharing one of the best travel moments I had with my family last April, on a Holy Week.
We booked an overnight stay at Nasuno Seascape at Maslog, Danao City, Cebu. I really was thrilled about this quick staycation as this was the very first time that "Bolt", my super clingy furbaby was going with us. I actually was having a hard time sourcing the best spots that would allow pets on overnight stays. Plus, there was a lot to consider - father wanted just nearby places (He doesn't want long car rides), my sister wanted "North", like staycation houses in the North of Cebu, and I wanted an exclusive place where "Bolt" is also welcomed. Making my dog the top consideration was making it even harder for me to get a place for the family's staycation on a Holy Week. Most of the resorts I had inquired about, would allow pets for day use only. So I was like torn between pulling off this seldom chance of going on a staycation overnight with the whole family while dropping "Bolt" from the headcounts, and booking for day use only, but with dearest my pet dog. But the universe conspired, we got a place that met all our considerations - not too far, somewhere in the North, plus it was an exclusive beach house where "Bolt" was super free.
It was an Easter Sunday, it was like all the people were out to celebrate the day, almost everywhere was peopley, so lucky were we, we already had booked a place.
We headed to Danao right after church. It was around 1:00 in the afternoon, we arrived at the resort just in time for the check-in.
Churching is like also our family bonding on Sunday mornings while napping in the afternoons. And so there, at Nasuno, we never skipped our Sunday afternoon nap time together moment.
By 4:00 pm, we went out of our room, stayed in the beach-front yard, talking randoms while enjoying the view and the gentle caress of the cold sea breeze. By 5:00, we were prepping our dinner. It was somewhat of a "grill" evening, we had grilled Fish, grilled Pork Belly, and grilled Bananas. The place got a grilling station in their yard which made this seldom moment so much perfect. You know the feeling that you owned the place, and you were all in the beach-front yard, stars were visible from above, cold breeze was everywhere, the night was peaceful that you only hear water splashing sound, plus the smoke from your grilling smelt really good. Ohhh! 'twas superb! Craving for more moments like this!
The next day, we got up at 5:00 am and went swimming at the beach right then 'til 8:00. As for my parents, getting a sea bath early morning is therapeutic, so yes, we all did, including "Bolt". It was also this time that we had proved that Bolt's love for us is greater than all his fears, especially his fear of water, like baths. It was like he was the only one left at shore, and was left with no choice, so he swam too to be with us. What a delight to see your loved ones all in one frame!
After the swimming bonding, we had our breakfast at the same spot where we had our dinner last night. The rest of our hours in Nasuno were spent here in our favorite spot, talking over breakfast. *sigh! Missing now that moment while putting it in words here.
At 11:00 am, we started packing our things up and readying for the checkout. But of course, the family travel wouldn't be complete without a photo op before leaving, so picture-taking here and there concluded our stay at Nasuno Seascapes.
At first, I was kinda disappointed with the place, it is not that inviting like how it is promoted online. The room is not really ventilated (For me, it looked haunted), plus some accommodation room items badly needed repair. But, it was able to give us peace and quiet, and exclusivity during our stay, which I loved the most. To add, the staffs were very accommodating that you won't hesitate to approach them any time for your needs.
It was a great time! And time will always be great with family!
I felt blessed that I was still able to get moments like this with the fam - MY HOME AND MY SAFE SPACE. Praying for more like this!
It seems that you have a lovely family bony. I hope I can also have an overnight stay with my family. 🤞
