Vaya que ha sido una semana muy especial para todos los músicos del Sistema de Orquestas y Coros de Venezuela. Hemos tenido muchísimo trabajo, no ha habido tiempo para descansar, pero además de nuestro gran amor por la música, el estar rodeado de tantos amigos hacen que el paso de los días sea más fácil. Los chicos de la orquesta se han reencontrado con músicos de varias agrupaciones y de varias épocas, y nosotros los cantantes hemos tenido un reencuentro con los coros de otros estados, quienes teníamos 10 años sin hacer una reunión nacional. ¡A sido genial ver tantas caras conocidas!...
It has been a very special week for all the musicians of the Sistema de Orquestas y Coros de Venezuela. We have had a lot of work, there has been no time to rest, but besides our great love for music, being surrounded by so many friends makes the passing of the days easier. The boys of the orchestra have been reunited with musicians from various groups and from different periods, and we singers have had a reunion with the choirs from other states, who had 10 years without a national meeting. It has been great to see so many familiar faces!...
Aunque tenemos una sede oficial, nos hemos apoderado del Teatro Teresa Carreño de Caracas, así que ha habido más espacio para la música y para la amistad. Uno de los mejores momentos de esta celebración del 50 aniversario ha sido comparar nuestras fotos con las del 40 aniversario, ver quienes están, quienes no están ya, darnos cuenta de que algunos ya somos vecinos en el mismo edificio y otros se han convertido en nuestros mejores amigos, mucha gente que alguna vez fue extraña, ahora cantamos a una sola voz. De hecho a una amiga le prohibieron estar en el 40 aniversario por una inasistencia y hoy es la solista de una de las obras de Beethoven, son anécdotas divinas...
Although we have an official headquarters, we have taken over the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, so there has been more space for music and friendship. One of the best moments of this 50th anniversary celebration has been to compare our photos with those of the 40th anniversary, to see who is there, who is no longer there, to realize that some of us are now neighbors in the same building and others have become our best friends, many people who were once strangers, now sing with one voice. In fact a friend of mine was forbidden to be at the 40th anniversary because of an absence and today she is the soloist of one of Beethoven's works, these are divine anecdotes...
La Señora que pueden ver en la cuarta fotografía de este post fue una de las mejores amigas de mi papá, cantaban juntos en la mismo quinteto, así que verla ahí en el ensayo general significó mucho para mí, me hizo feliz, me trajo nostalgia y me hizo sentir nuevamente que mi papá me acompaña en cada aspecto de mi vida, no me deja olvidarlo. Es una gran Maestra, una cantante muy impresionante, de niveles superiores al mío, y aún así en estos eventos nadie es más que nadie, es lo hermoso de cantar en coros. Siempre he dicho que hasta los enemigos hacen latir sus corazones al mismo ritmo cuando cantamos en coral siendo dirigidos...
The lady you can see in the fourth picture of this post was one of my dad's best friends, they sang together in the same quintet, so seeing her there in the dress rehearsal meant a lot to me, it made me happy, it brought me nostalgia and made me feel again that my dad is with me in every aspect of my life, he doesn't let me forget him. She is a great Maestra, a very impressive singer, of higher levels than mine, and yet in these events no one is more than anyone else, that's the beauty of singing in choirs. I have always said that even the enemies make their hearts beat to the same rhythm when we sing in chorus being directed....
El primer concierto fue algo descomunal, y no solo por la magnitud de la música interpretada, sino por las mas de 1200 personas en el escenario y las cuatro horas de duración. No sé que hará el resto de mis compañeros, pero al momento de ubicarme en tarima siempre me encargo de tener a mis mejores amigos a mi lado, delante y detrás de mí, es la mejor manera de lidiar con días largos, estar con las personas correctas. Ya hoy es el segundo concierto, y la despedida de las delegaciones de otros estados, estoy seguro que habrán muchos abrazos y lágrimas esta noche, pero también a promesa y el gran deseo de que se vuelvan a realizar eventos como este, donde el coro nacional se conformaba de la unión de los coros estadales; en cierta forma lo es, ya que todos aquí en Caracas venimos de nuestras respectivas delegaciones del interior del país.
The first concert was something huge, and not only because of the magnitude of the music performed, but also because of the more than 1200 people on stage and the four hours of duration. I don't know what the rest of my companions will do, but at the moment of being on stage I always make sure to have my best friends by my side, in front and behind me, it is the best way to deal with long days, to be with the right people. Today is already the second concert, and the farewell of the delegations from other states, I am sure there will be many hugs and tears tonight, but also a promise and the great desire to make events like this again, where the national choir was formed from the union of the state choirs; in a way it is, since all of us here in Caracas come from our respective delegations from the interior of the country.
Nuevamente termino de escribir este post y debo irme a trabajar, estoy muy cansado, pero la amistad y el amor a la música son mi gran motivación. Hoy mi mejor amigo será el barítono solista del Mozart y mi esposa será la soprano solista del Beethoven, hace 10 años solo éramos simples aspirantes al coro nacional y hoy todos somos protagonistas. ¿Cómo no seguir luchando por mantener el sueño de ser felices haciendo lo que más amamos?... Ya habrá tiempo para descansar, y para Hive 😅
My Best Friend
Once again I finish writing this post and I have to go to work, I am very tired, but friendship and love for music are my great motivation. Today my best friend will be the baritone soloist of the Mozart and my wife will be the soprano soloist of the Beethoven, 10 years ago we were just simple aspirants to the national choir and today we are all protagonists. How not to keep fighting to keep the dream of being happy doing what we love the most... There will be time to rest, and to Hive 😅

Saludos amigo, una semana llena de mcuhas cosas valiosas para la carrera de musico y son esas amistades que van saliendo con el paso de los años, como tambien tener la dicha de ir comparando cada año que va pasando, donde esta aventura a penas comienza y seguro que vendran más cosas de gran valor.

STOPAmigo me imagino lo maravilloso que fue ese reencuentro con todos tua comoañeros, creo que no le alxanzo el tiempo para revivir más momentos espléndido. Pero a pesar de tanto trabajo se que la recompensa de ser un participe más de ésta estupenda labor no hay más que agradecer a Dios y todo el equipo de la orqueta por su magnífica experiencia.
