Hoy mi mejor amiga me invitó a salir con ella al centro. Técnicamente necesitaba que la acompañe a comprarse un teléfono nuevo y otras cosas que necesitaba.

Today my best friend invited me to go out with her to the mall. Technically, she needed me to accompany her to buy a new phone and other things she needed.

Me encanta salir con ella, siempre nos divertimos mucho, a veces yo tengo que comprar cosas y ella me acompaña, pero hoy fue al revés. Esta vez caminamos un rato por ciertas tiendas, vimos ropa, comimos pizza y me compró un helado y ella se compró un refresco.

I love going out with her; we always have so much fun. Sometimes I have to buy things, and she accompanies me, but today it was the other way around. This time we walked around some stores, looked at clothes, ate pizza, and she bought me an ice cream while she got a soda.

También fuimos a una tienda que me gusta mucho y ella se compró unas cositas y me dejó elegir un par de cosas para mí 🍁 Elegí unos labiales en tres presentaciones diferentes, uno mate, una barra y uno en lápiz, traté de que fueran tonos similares.

We also went to a store that I really like, and she bought a few things and let me choose a couple of things for myself 🍁 I picked out lipsticks in three different finishes: one matte, one stick, and one pencil, trying to make sure they were similar shades.

Mientras estábamos en el centro comercial, nos tomamos un par de fotos.

While we were at the mall, we took a couple of photos.

Yo como siempre no pude ser seria y tenía que poner mi tradicional cara de calcetín atropellado.

As always, I couldn't be serious and had to make my traditional "squished sock" face.

Yo no sé tomarme fotos como una persona decente.

I don't know how to take pictures like a decent person.

Mi amiga se tomó unas fotos y como siempre se veía preciosa. Por cierto, su outfit de hoy era muy bueno.

My friend took some photos, and as always, she looked beautiful. By the way, her outfit today was really good.

Y bueno, tampoco es que ella sea muy normal, obviamente no podía faltar la típica foto con cara de que acabamos de salir de un manicomio.

And well, it's not like she's very normal either; of course, we had to take the typical photo with the face that looks like we just came out of an psychiatric.

Por suerte, al final encontramos a una vendedora de imprevisto, lo malo es que tuvimos que esperar como una hora y media sentadas en una mesa porque la chica olvidó el cargador en casa (era un teléfono usado) y obviamente tenía que darle el teléfono a mi amiga con todo y cargador.

Luckily, in the end, we found a seller unexpectedly, but the downside was that we had to wait about an hour and a half sitting at a table because the girl forgot the charger at home (it was a used phone), and obviously, she had to give my friend the phone along with the charger.

En el centro comercial había un puesto en el que pude ver un ejército de patitos detrás de la vitrina.

At the mall, there was a stand where I could see an army of little ducks behind the display.

También ví este candelabro en el techo y le tomé una foto.

I also saw this chandelier on the ceiling and took a photo of it.

Mi amiga me dió las gracias por acompañarla, pero en realidad siento que realmente no hice mucho, sólo estuve ahí, aunque creo que entiendo el sentimiento, a veces sólo basta con la presencia de una persona a la que quieres y a la que le tienes confianza para sentirte tranquilo y apoyado al hacer cosas que consideras importantes. Aunque bueno, quizá sí la ayudé a cargar las compras y a hacer ciertos pagos y anotaciones... Pero no creo que eso sea tanto como para agradecer.

My friend thanked me for accompanying her, but I really feel like I didn't do much; I was just there. Although I think I understand the sentiment; sometimes it’s enough just to have the presence of someone you love and trust to feel calm and supported while doing things you consider important. Well, maybe I did help her carry the purchases and make certain payments and notes... But I don't think that's enough to warrant thanks.

En fin, hoy fue un buen día, mi amiga logró comprar las cosas que quería y necesitaba, pasamos un buen rato, comimos cosas sabrosas, nos reímos a más no poder, hicimos el ridículo, echamos chisme y caminamos como locas. Fue genial pasar el día juntas, pero eso sí: quedamos súper agotadas.

Anyway, today was a good day; my friend managed to buy the things she wanted and needed, we had a great time, ate delicious food, laughed a lot, made fools of ourselves, gossiped, and walked around like crazy. It was great to spend the day together, but we were super exhausted.
