Mi viaje de Luna de Miel / My Honeymoon Trip (Esp-Eng)
In this opportunity I want to give you a little recap of what was this wonderful trip, where not only my husband and I celebrated love, but we enjoyed meeting beautiful places and people, who to this day are our friends.
Todo inicio en la elección del destino, varias opciones se pusieron sobre la mesa, muchas de ellas involucraban playa, mi destino favorito para vacacionar, pero finalmente luego de meditarlo un poco nos decidimos por un tour por algunas ciudades de Europa. Algunos de nuestros amigos habían hecho este tipo de tour y lo recomendaron mucho, por lo que nuestra balanza se inclinó por ello. Una vez que nos decidimos por Europa surgió la gran pregunta ¿Cuáles países visitamos?, para responder la misma nos asesoramos con una agencia de viaje y según la lista de países que queríamos visitar elegimos un tour llamado: De Atenas a Paris. Atenas la capital de la civilización antigua hasta Paris “La Ciudad Luz”. Y si como se lo imaginan fue un viaje maravilloso.
It all started with the choice of destination, several options were put on the table, many of them involved the beach, my favorite vacation destination, but finally after some meditation we decided on a tour of some cities in Europe. Some of our friends had done this type of tour and recommended it highly, so our scales tipped in favor of it. Once we decided on Europe, the big question arose: Which countries do we visit? To answer it, we contacted a travel agency and according to the list of countries we wanted to visit, we chose a tour called: From Athens to Paris. Athens the capital of the ancient civilization to Paris "The City of Light". And yes, as you can imagine it was a wonderful trip.
Mi esposo y yo nos fuimos de viaje dos días después de la boda, luego de disfrutar plenamente nuestra fiesta y de descansar un poco luego del torbellino de los preparativos de la ceremonia y la celebración. Partimos desde el aeropuerto internacional de Maiquetía Simón Bolívar que sirve a la ciudad de Caracas, de allí tomamos el vuelo con escala hasta el aeropuerto de Madrid-Barajas que nos llevó hasta la ciudad de Atenas.
My husband and I left on a trip two days after the wedding, after fully enjoying our party and resting a bit after the flurry of preparations for the ceremony and the celebration. We took a transit flight from the international airport of Maiquetía Simón Bolívar that serves the city of Caracas to Athens airport.
Para poder trasladarnos por tantos países, que por primera vez visitábamos, mi esposo y yo preferimos contratar los servicios de un tour, el cual se ocupó de reservarnos tanto los hospedajes, traslados y visitas a realizar en cada uno de las ciudades. Lo que agradecí, especialmente al llegar al aeropuerto de Atenas, al ver las señalizaciones la mayoría estaban en Griego y los llamados en el aeropuerto igualmente lo hacían en ese idioma, no sé porque pensé que las harían en inglés jajajaja, bueno lo cierto es que me sentí bastante aliviada cuando vi a una señora con un cartel con mi apellido y el de mi esposo, ella era parte del tour contratado y se encargó del traslado del aeropuerto al hotel.
In order to move around so many countries, which we were visiting for the first time, my husband and I preferred to hire the services of a tour, which took care of booking our accommodations, transfers and visits to be made in each of the cities. What I appreciated, especially when I arrived at the airport in Athens, when I saw the signs most of them were in Greek and the calls at the airport were also in that language, I do not know why I thought they would do them in English hahahaha, well the truth is that I was quite relieved when I saw a lady with a sign with my last name and my husband's, she was part of the contracted tour and was in charge of the transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Ya en el hotel, descansamos un poco y salimos a recorrer los alrededores. Atenas a mi parecer es una ciudad con muchos encantos, a todos los que nos gusta un poco la mitología griega le veremos el encanto a sus ruinas. La visita a la Acrópolis para mí fue alucinante, el ver el tipo de construcciones maravillosas que se pudieron construir en época antiguas con herramientas que se alejan mucho de lo que se tiene hoy en día. Luego de Atenas conocimos otras ciudades de Grecia como: Corinto, donde conocimos su famoso canal y la fortaleza Acrocorinto luego fuimos a la cuidad de Micenas, Trípoli y Olimpia.
Once in the hotel, we rested for a while and went out to explore the surrounding area. Athens in my opinion is a city with many charms, all of us who like a little Greek mythology will see the charm of its ruins. The visit to the Acropolis for me was amazing, to see the kind of wonderful constructions that could be built in ancient times with tools that are far away from what we have today. After Athens we visited other Greek cities such as: Corinth, where we visited its famous canal and the Acrocorinth fortress, then we went to the city of Mycenae, Tripoli and Olympia.
Para ir de Grecia a Italia nos embarcamos en un ferry que siguiendo la costa griega nos llevó a Ancora, ciudad italina donde desembarcamos, visitamos Alberobello y seguimos el viaje hasta Roma donde luego de una visita panorámica de la ciudad recorrimos sus calles visitando el Coliseo, la Plaza San Pedro del Vaticano, el Vaticano y varias iglesias de las muchas iglesias de la ciudad. De Roma nos fuimos a la ciudad de Florencia y nos deleitamos con la gran belleza de la ciudad, seguimos hacia Venecia con sus góndolas, arte murano y sus canales nos despedimos de Italia, no sin antes comernos un delicioso helado.
To go from Greece to Italy we embarked on a ferry that following the Greek coast took us to Ancora, Italian city where we disembarked, visited Alberobello and continued the journey to Rome where after a panoramic tour of the city we walked its streets visiting the Colosseum, St. Peter's Square, the Vatican and several churches of the many churches the city has. From Rome we went to the city of Florence and we were delighted with the great beauty of the city, we continued to Venice with its gondolas, Murano art and canals we said goodbye to Italy, but not before eating a delicious ice cream.
De Italia viajamos por carretera a Suiza donde nos deleitamos con la belleza del paisaje, en este país visitamos las ciudades de Lugano, Lucerna, Zurich y Berna en cada una de estas ciudades nos deleitamos con la belleza de sus paisajes, arquitectura y sencillez. En Suiza no pudimos dejar comprar chocolates compartir con nuestros familiares y amigos.
From Italy we traveled by road to Switzerland where we were delighted with the beauty of the landscape, in this country we visited the cities of Lugano, Lucerne, Zurich and Bern in each of these cities we were delighted with the beauty of its landscapes, architecture and simplicity. In Switzerland we could not stop buying chocolates to share with our family and friends.
Nuestro hermoso viaje de bodas cerró con broche de oro en Francia donde principalmente visitamos la ciudad de París y el palacio de Versalles. En París hicimos un recorrido panorámico de la ciudad, paramos en el barrio bohemio de Montmartre y conocimos su icónica iglesia, también hicimos un paseo por el río Sena y entramos a la iglesia de Notre Dame y por supuesto visitamos a la reina de París, La torre Eiffel, hermosa tanto de día como de noche.
Our beautiful wedding trip ended on a high note in France where we mainly visited the city of Paris and the palace of Versailles. In Paris we did a panoramic tour of the city, we stopped in the bohemian neighborhood of Montmartre and met its iconic church, we also took a walk along the Seine River and entered the church of Notre Dame and of course we visited the queen of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, beautiful both day and night.
Durante el viaje, hicimos amistad con un grupo de mexicanos en especial con una pareja, Irene y Edgar, con quienes aún mantenemos el contacto, nos llevamos tan bien que un par de años después fuimos a visitarlos a México en un viaje que espero contarles muy pronto.
During the trip, we made friends with a group of Mexicans, especially with a couple, Irene and Edgar, with whom we still keep in touch, we got along so well that a couple of years later we went to visit them in Mexico on a trip that I hope to tell you about very soon.
Luego de 15 días de viaje llego el momento de retornar a Venezuela después de disfrutar una luna de miel que satisfizo todas nuestras expectativas y cumplió parte de nuestros sueños.
After 15 days of travel it was time to return to Venezuela after enjoying a honeymoon that met all our expectations and fulfilled part of our dreams.

Wow, this was a fantastic journey, all those places to visit in 15 days. A proper honeymoon and more of it! Oh, you didn't visit Spain... but all those other countries are beautiful.
