Hey there, guys! It's me @lorene08. And today, I'm not going to post my typical blog posts. This time, I want to talk about my found family circle of friends called Rainbowpopzzzz.
It all began in junior high at our Grade 9 level, like most school friendships, ours began with random jokes, and since we all had the same sense of humor, we just clicked.
But actually, some of the people in our circle now were already close to us back then—they just weren’t part of our group chat at that time. We did not have an official name for our group at that time because, to be honest, we do not take things seriously at all in our chat, well except for school stuff! HAHHAHAHA! We never had a big fight even though we have minor arguments now and then, and I think that is normal in every friendship, right? The best thing about us is that all of us are academic achievers. But, rather than competing against each other, we support and help one another. No rivalries—just pure friendship and encouragement.
Since I enjoy capturing memories-big or small always take videos and photos of all the things we do together, even the most random moments. HAHAHAHAH. I just love those times when we are laughing over silly things, in those moments, I forget about all my worries in life.
One of our Year-End Party traditions is gift-giving. We normally do it using code names and wish lists to spice things up. But last year, we did it differently, we used our actual names, and instead of following a wish list, we had to buy something that represented the person we picked.
By Grade 10, we had 11 members in our group. Though we were not in the same class, we remained close friends.
Fun fact, our classrooms were just a short walk from each other, but because we were all so busy, we couldn’t hang out every day. Soon enough, we began referring to ourselves as Rainbowpopzzzz—not because we had an official name, but because we created an Instagram account HAHAHAHAHAHA😭😭
I'm very lucky to have them. I know this may sound cringe to others but when I'm with them, I can fully express myself. I can be loud, messy, and silly without feeling judged or scolded. Even if we take different paths in the future, I will always be proud of them. Yes, we have other friends too, but they will always be my first, my ride-or-die circle. Although we hardly ever make time for bonding because of us both tied down with other tasks, we make a point to always check in on each other in our group chat.
I hope everyone finds this kind of friendship. I know nothing lasts forever—just like the words boyfriend, girlfriend, and friend, everything has an END. But true friendships don’t just fade away. Even if we go our separate ways, the memories, the bond, and the love we share will always stay with us.
"Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together." – Woodrow Wilson. Just like cement holds bricks together to build something strong, friendship holds people together, creating strong and lasting relationships.
When we find those ride-or-die friends, we make sure to cultivate that connection as long as we could. These people are rare so we treasure them as long as we could. Reading your blog takes me back to my high school days. Was grateful to have amazing friends back then. I only have a few who I remain in contact with now that we are adults but looking back, our classmates and childhood friends have nurtured our personality and values too.
