MY DAUGHTER'S SIMPLE WISH ON HER 10th BIRTHDAY

How did you celebrate your birthday? What are your wishes?

Hello, my dear Hivers!Good day to all of you especially to all members of this community! I hope everyone is doing well! First, Let me extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who supported my previous blogs and I'm hoping you will still support my today's blog.

Let me share with you how we celebrate my daughter's 10th birthday.
Back in 2013 after typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines, particularly in the northern part of Cebu, I delivered a baby girl on December 9, 2013, through a cesarean procedure. I was so happy seeing my newly born baby girl despite my pain due to my operation.

I thought I could deliver her normally but due to the result of my ultrasound in which my baby was in a complete breech position, the doctor decided to undergo a cesarean operation.

Last December 9, 2023, my daughter turned 10 years old. But before her birthday, she requested me to prepare snacks for her classmates. She told me that even though we didn't have any preparation for her birthday, importantly, she could serve snacks for her classmates. I was touched by her statement. She's the kind of girl who is so thoughtful of her classmates.

Since December 8, 2023, was a holiday, snacks for her classmates were served last December 7, 2023, Thursday. I bought 30 bottles of C2 drinks and packs of sliced bread. Then, we served also a "Bam-i" or "Pancit" a Visayan noodle dish.
Looking at the smiling faces of the pupils while eating their snacks, delighted me so much. Do you know who was very happy at that time? Of course, my lovely daughter since that was her wish to serve snacks to her classmates and that wish was granted.

All the teachers also were able to take their snacks the same as the pupils.

My Daughter's Special Day
The most awaited day has come, December 9, 2023, Saturday. Good timing, since it's a weekend and we have no work at school. We go to church to offer mass and to light candles.

Lighting candles to Thank God through our beloved Patron Saint Vincent Ferrer

Here in the Philippines, it's our tradition that on every birthday we have to light candles to Thank God for adding another year of life. Lighting the candle also symbolizes our light or guide on our way to God.

I asked my daughter to pose for a picture with the giant Christmas tree. She smiled sweetly while posing. Before heading home, we bought ice cream and lechon chicken for dinner.

I extended an invitation to both my brother's and sister's families to come and dine with us. My cousins also were invited. It was a joyous occasion as my daughter received a delicious birthday cake from her beloved cousins. The expression of happiness on her face was priceless, and we all had a wonderful time together.

After saying a prayer, we sang 'Happy Birthday" and watched her blow out the candle as she made a wish.

After blowing out her candle, we all gathered around the dining table and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Our food dishes included lechon chicken, fried shrimp, bam-i or pancit (Visayan noodles), native chicken with soup, and menudo. Everyone was having a great time, especially the kids who enjoyed eating ice cream and cake. We also had some wine to drink and more ice cream for dessert. It was a wonderful evening filled with good food, laughter, and happy memories to ponder.

Reflection

Indeed it was one of the happiest birthday celebrations of my daughter. She didn't ask me to prepare any food during her birthday instead, she only wished to give free snacks to her classmates. But as a mother who loves her daughter, I couldn't let her birthday pass without celebrating it. Even a simple celebration with our closest family was more than enough.

Above all, I am grateful to God for giving her good health, and for another year to celebrate.

This is all for today's blog, my dear Hivers. I'm so happy to know that you could spend time reading this post. Thank you for your support! See you on my next blog! Goodbye for now! I love you all! God bless you!

I can't imagine how difficult that date was for you mam @lovinglymers.

That day was just one month and one day after the Super typhoon Yolanda hit us in the Northern part of Cebu, Philippines. But I still can imagine how difficult that time was.

It was very dark during night time because there was no electricity. The temperature was very hot during day time because the big trees were either uprooted,or trunks broken leaving no leaves to cool down the temperature.

But, the happiness that you felt when your baby was born during that very difficult and unfriendly time can't be measured definitely. Thank you for sharing mam.

Yes Sir @natsve54,a month before I delivered my baby girl was so terrible due to super typhoon Yolanda. It was a shocking moment as the typhoon hit in our place which caused greatly damage in our area.I was 8 months pregnant at the time so my husband was so worried about me.All the trees around us were uprooted and our roof was all blown by the strong wind.My husband told me to hide under the table and know what,it was too difficult for me since I'm not comfortable with my pregnancy. How can I hide under the table for my situation? But I tried to crawl just to protect my baby. Thanks God the typhoon has gone after 1 hour🙏.He answered our prayers🙏.The following month I delivered my baby,so grateful pa rin since the hospital have generator and it's equipped all the facilities needed for my operation.A feeling of too much happiness after I have seen my baby girl🙂🙂🙂Thank you so much Sir for spending time reading my blog❤️
