Hello wanderers! It's Marinel, (minelwanders20). I'll be sharing with you our agenda on December 24. This day is always a double celebration for us because we celebrate not just Christmas but also the birthday of my father. We gather to honor him, sharing stories, laughter, and a special birthday cake alongside our Christmas feast. For us, this day is a beautiful blend of holiday cheer and a heartfelt tribute to the man who holds our family together.
Before celebrating the occasion, I always prepare myself to attend the Christmas Mass. Every December, a special Mass is held on Christmas Eve, a tradition that fills my heart with warmth and joy. The mass usually begins at 10 PM, gathering people from all walks of life to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. The church radiates a serene yet festive atmosphere, with glowing lights and heartfelt hymns echoing through the night. It’s a moment to pause, give thanks, and welcome the birth of Christ with hope and faith. This cherished tradition marks the beginning of a meaningful celebration.
After attending the Christmas Mass, I stopped by at the cemetery to light a candle for my Papa. Yes, he is in heaven now but still, we celebrate his birthday, keeping his memory alive in our hearts. As I stood by his resting place, I whispered prayers and poured out my love, telling him how much I miss him. It’s a quiet moment of connection, as if he’s listening to every word. The night felt peaceful, and though he’s no longer here physically, I felt his presence in my heart, reminding me that love transcends time and space.
After attending Mass and lighting a candle for my Papa, I went straight home to avoid being on the road at midnight. The church and cemetery are quite far from our house, requiring a 15-20 minute drive. Once I got home, I spent the time chilling, singing a few songs, and having a few small shots while waiting for midnight to celebrate Christmas Eve. We were all so excited for the clock to strike twelve so we could finally light the fireworks we had prepared. The anticipation made the evening even more festive and thrilling.
While waiting for midnight, I started eating on the food and sweets we had prepared. Then, my eyes caught sight of the cake—it was so cute and beautifully made. The design was spot on, perfectly following the theme I requested. It was a fun and creative nod to my Papa’s personality, especially his love for Tanduay whenever he had free time and wasn’t working. The cake brought back fond memories of him, making the celebration feel even more special. It was a small but meaningful way to honor him and keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
Our Christmas Eve celebration was filled with so much joy as many people gathered at our house. My cousins and close friends were all with us, and the house was alive with laughter and chikas. The energy was contagious, with everyone sharing stories, throwing jokes, and enjoying each other's company. It felt like one big happy family reunion, despite some being relatives and others friends. The Christmas atmosphere made the night so much fun, and the sound of voices and laughter echoed through the house, creating unforgettable memories. It was a perfect way to celebrate the holiday with loved ones.
Cheers to this year full of laughter, memories, joy and LOVE. This is Patalinghug-Patalingjug Family spreading love to everyone. 😘💖 Ciao! 😘
