We also have one couple as friends, they don't have children but it doesn't matter, my child is already not that small. We don't live in the same cities right now, but we try to use every occasion to go (or they come) so we can meet. Close friends are a treasure to have :)

Having good friends are a blessings. We just need to choose who we to be friend because nowadays not all people we encounterel are true.
