March has been a special month for me since I was a kid. Not only is it the month when the school is almost over, but it is also the birth month of my only brother.
It took five years for me to be blessed with a younger brother. I had fully enjoyed being the baby of the family that I fervently prayed for a little sibling. I didn’t specify whether I wanted a girl or a boy. I just wanted a playmate.
I love having a brother. It feels great to have someone to do things on my behalf. Having him around also meant fewer household chores for me. Well, I’m just glad that this brother of mine is responsible and dependable. I’m blessed to witness him grow to a young adult now.
He is now 21 years old and spending most of his time at the university. He is in his junior year. Next year, he will be facing the real world of adulting. Oh, how time flies. It felt like it was just yesterday when I would scold him for always taking a bath in the river. Gosh, this guy loves the water.
To celebrate his birthday, my mother prepared lunch, and I bought a cake. Since his birthday falls on a weekday, we celebrated it in advance.
I’m so thankful to God for giving him wisdom and for His sustaining grace. Through the years, He has stayed by my brother’s side, working miracles and great things. My prayers for my brother would always be success and good health. I pray that he will be able to finish his studies, land a job, and live a life that he wanted.
