Have you ever tried travelling without knowing the destination? Unknown journey is an epic escapade usually done by my friends and family. There is thrill and excitement upon going just to find out what experience is waiting upon arrival. What is more exhilarating, is when it is travelled with your loved ones on a special holiday.
Good day Hivers! We have a one-day holiday due to the World Teachers' Day celebration. Since we didn't have a class, we opted to spend it on a beach together with our families and friends to make it more fun and memorable.
Now join me as we travel and discover the hidden beach resort of Anapog, San Remegio, public beach where you will be amused by its fine white sand and crystal clear seawater. A little touch of it can be the best antidote that can give satisfaction and contentment. This was where we had our simple celebration of the World Teachers' Day.
Let's go and discover the hidden paradise of Anapog
SAN REMIGIO, Cebu, Philippines - is known for its stunning white sand all over the nation and its barangay Anapog is one of them. I was amused to find out that there is a wonderful beach in this place that is hidden for me to discover. It is a secluded place where you can feel the fresh air, the green setting is captivating and the marvels of the long shoreline are addictive.
It is a 38-minute vehicle ride via San Antonio and is 21.3 km away from our house. Our trip was dizzying because the road was so winding and it was very narrow. A single word was not uttered from our mouths due to fear and nervousness. We endured everything because I knew that it was worth the joy and fun.
Upon our arrival, I was bewildered by what was in this place. We parked our car along the road and took a 5-minute walk before reaching the unknown beach for me. We passed in man-made stairways made of limestone and carefully traversed this profusely green area planted with various kinds of trees. It is an enchanting garden that gives quick relief from my dizziness.
The tangy aroma from the sea enticed us as we approached nearer to its beach resort. An overflowing excitement was felt instantly. Oh, I love the dozy appearance of the sea on this gleaming afternoon. It was calm and serene during our visit, perfect for our children to go on for swimming.
While waiting for the food to be eaten, I was having fun strolling at the beach. The vast expanse of shoreline where the waves were drenching gently aroused the interest of the locals to soak themselves in the cold sea. I heard my children squealing while enjoying the languorous flow of the waves.
As I headed towards the south, I found the unique architectural design of the house. I was star-struck by its iconic structure. It is attached to the left small portion of the mountain and was riprap to make its foundation firm and strong but it was a little bit ruined. I got a good impression of the house where the overlooking view of the sea is their primary goal. I love to go up however, my vertigo hindered me this time.
Another surprising discovery as I headed my walk towards the north was the ancient cemetery. It turned out that not only the living wanted to experience the wonders of the sea, but also the dead. They are 10 meters away from the sea but when high tide occurs, they will get closer to the seawater. How interesting this would be.
As I proceeded, I didn't realize that we had reached some of the beautiful private beach resorts here. They are captivating and elegant looking perfect for any gatherings that are to be held along the coast. They only need to clean the debris that was scattered on the shoreline. We can still see the beauty of the beach even if it is uncleaned. The more it will be glorified if these trashes are kept.
I have spotted the circular styrofoam used by the beach resort owners that was placed on purpose. What are these for? They are to be used as a reminder to swimmers who are not familiar with the depth of the seawater. When they will go beyond these markings the water will be deeper. Safety precautions in advance. This is how skilful and creative Filipinos are. I love their concept for the betterment of the folks who love swimming.
The simple but meaningful celebration
We are not blessed with earthly things but our hearts are genuine. We appreciate simple preparation prepared with love that gives contentment and satisfaction. We shared happily the food we brought. These are not costly however, our stomachs were full after all. We ate together and were so happy.
And by surprise, a balut vendor came. Balut is mostly loved by Pinoys. It is a boiled egg with a fertilized embryo inside. What is more mouthwatering of this tempting food is the spicy vinegar made from coconut. I cannot resist not to buy balut, this is truly yummy.
Who can say NO to this Pinoy's most craved boiled egg? My friends were having fun and we were excited about peeling the eggs, then religiously sipping its broth. It is yummier if mixed with a little amount of salt and spicy vinegar. So satisfying.
The tempting native delicacy of the Filipinos. I love everything in this street food, from the broth to the last bite of the egg.
This simple celebration is remarkable to me. It is the company of people who made it more successful and fruitful and of course, the touch of nature made it more meaningful too. The bond that we have will mark another milestone in ourselves that will be cherished forever. The laughter that we shared, and the good conversation that we had was worthy. The public beach resort was given emphasis too. I was allowed to share with these youngsters about the goodness of the Hive platform. Upon knowing this, their interest was aroused and are very eager to join soon.
It was a happy Teacher's Day celebration. A time not wasted. We went home wearing smiles of happiness and looking forward to another travel to an unknown destination on another special holiday.
