Cada cumpleaños es una razón para celebrar la vida, pienso que nunca puede pasarse por alto ese día especial en que llegaron al mundo las personas que tanto queremos, está vez nos reunimos entre semana y no esperamos hasta el fin para compartir un rato por el cumpleaños de mi abuela Nolis ya que ella se merece eso y más por ser un ser lleno de luz, amor e infinita bondad.
Every birthday is a reason to celebrate life, I think we can never overlook that special day when the people we love so much came into the world, this time we met during the week and did not wait until the end to share some time for the birthday of my grandmother Nolis because she deserves that and more for being a being full of light, love and infinite kindness.
En este día especial fuí en busca de un pastel para ella, así que le pedí a mi papá que me llevará a una pastelería cercana a nuestra casa, habían distintas opciones para elegir pasteles de 1/4kg, 1/2kg y 1kg, algunos eran de chocolate o vainilla con rellenos como arequipe, chocolate o sencillas sin relleno, basada en mi presupuesto elegí una de vainilla rellena de arequipe de 1/2kg y con una decoración con merengue en color verde qué me pareció bastante llamativo y además un toque de gotas y trufas de chocolate en su cubierta, luego llevé el pastel a su casa para después compartirlo en la noche.
On this special day I went looking for a cake for her, so I asked my dad to take me to a bakery near our house, there were different options to choose from 1/4kg, 1/2kg and 1kg cakes, some were chocolate or vanilla with fillings such as arequipe, chocolate or simple without filling, based on my budget I chose a 1/2kg vanilla cake filled with arequipe and decorated with green meringue which I thought was quite striking and also a touch of chocolate drops and truffles on the top, then I took the cake to her house to share it later in the evening.
De vuelta a mi casa tuvimos que esperar a que mi hermana llegará del trabajo para después ir nuevamente a que mi abuela, cuando llegamos ella estaba muy contenta de que estuviéramos ahí, nos tomamos algunas fotos y aunque éramos solo los familiares más cercanos fue suficiente además no nos cansamos de llenarla de amor y cariño, no solo en este día sino cada vez que puedo visitarla.
Back home we had to wait for my sister to come home from work and then go again to my grandmother, when we arrived she was very happy that we were there, we took some pictures and although we were only the closest family members it was enough and we never get tired of showering her with love and affection, not only on this day but every time I can visit her.
Cantamos el cumpleaños feliz, mi papá como siempre estaba super animado, todos aplaudiendo sin parar, luego comimos un trozo de pastel que para mi sorpresa era de chocolate y con relleno de chocolate y no de vainilla relleno de arequipe como me había indicado la vendedora de la pastelería, aún así estaba delicioso y muy cremoso por dentro, aunque el sabor de la esencia del merengue no era tan buena, lo importante es que a mi abuela le gustó un montón.
We sang happy birthday, my dad as always was super animated, everyone clapping non-stop, then we ate a piece of cake that to my surprise was chocolate and chocolate filled and not vanilla filled with arequipe as I had indicated the seller of the bakery, it was still delicious and very creamy inside, although the taste of the essence of meringue was not so good, the important thing is that my grandmother liked a lot.
Aunque fue un corta velada igual no dejó de ser especial, me siento agradecida con la vida y con Dios por permitirme seguir disfrutando de mi abuela.
Although it was a short evening, it was still special, I feel grateful to life and to God for allowing me to continue enjoying my grandmother.
