I watched the movie Shaolin Soccer when i was a kid probably at the age of 12. At that age, i was really attached to the movie because it was about football and also about Kung Fu because i was a big fan of jackie chan and jet li movies. the fusion of kung fu and soccer made the movie effortlessly the best movie for me as a kid.
I could still remember the first time i watched the movie and i still feel the same way anytime i am rewatching it again because it brings so much joy seeing the movie i enjoyed watching as a kid.
The story revolves around a Shaolin disciple who was very good at kung fu who aspires to be great and he had the opportunity to be great by promoting kung fu to the masses by blending it with the world's most popular sport which is soccer.
The movie started getting interesting when the main actor started to assemble his brothers who are all good at kung fu and they all possess a unique abilities. As a child, I couldn't help but cheer for this underdog team as they faced off against formidable opponents with supernatural abilities of their own.
The most memorable part of the Shaolin Soccer movie which i can never forget is the awesome bicycle kick that lead to the knock down of Team Evil in the final football match.
Shaolin soccer is not just only for kids but also for the adults because of its inspiration aspects and while I may have appreciated the film for different reasons as a kid, my love for it has only increased with age and i start to understood the movie more and more.
The Shaolin Soccer movie is truly a cinematic gem that has stood the test of time and people still keep watching it and the new generation still finds it very interesting even while it's over 20 years, that shows that the movie was really awesome and still appreciated.
The movie is really an awesome cinematic journey that you won't forget just like me and I'm certain that you may find yourself returning to it time and time again, enjoying it just as much as you did the first time.
