In 2022, Maerose was driving us to Hernani, Eastern Samar when she opened up about how she'd struggled to get her shit together following her break-up with an emotionally-abusive boyfriend. I saw pain in her eyes, heard a solemn plea in her voice.
Three years later, all her close college friends (with plus ones) gathered to give her the surprise bridal shower she deserves. To make this happen, we were in close communication with Stephen, her then boyfriend (now husband).
Despite joining 2-3 bridal showers of friends and colleagues before, I don't have any idea how to organize one. I've always been just an attendee, who just showed up after everything had been set-up, played games, sang a song or two and ate. 😅 Thankfully, 1 out of 8 of us was married a few years back and had the creativity to craft a bridal shower from scratch. Of course, I was the lead organizer; I gave people tasks to make this big event a success. I couldn't have done it without their help. My friends were cooperative and I had no difficulty at all.

I pre-selected our food orders and gave the list to the attending staff roughly 30 minutes before the event started. In all fairness, Atmosphere Dine Sports Bar + KTV was quick to prepare our food and deliver them inside our room. I heard great feedback about the food but personally, it's so so for me.
The moment of truth! After waiting for a little over 30 minutes, Maerose and Stephen arrived at the venue. We might've blown Maerose's mind a little too much as our surprise caught her off guard. Soon, tears of joy fell off her rosy cheeks and overwhelmingly hugs flooded her as she walked in our KTV Room. Everyone was screaming, laughing and giddy to start our one last karaoke session with Maerose as a single lady.
Other bridal shower will have a lengthy and structured program but ours was straightforward. This wasn't really the case if we have prepared more but life happened and we had to improvise. There are only 3 activities we prepared (or thought of impromptu), (1) unboxing of the cake, (2) dinner and (3) karaoke.

We were so glad we pulled this off all for Maerose. she was very happy and moved with our gesture; it meant the world to her that we are complete on her special day. Indeed, teamwork makes the dream work! I'll be sharing how the wedding turned out in a separate post. ❤🥰
Living life intentionally every single day, she believes that there’s no limit to one’s potential. Right now, she’s on the loose for the pursuit of endless holistic self-growth and development. What a nice surprise for the bride to be. It is really true sometimes in life we need to undergo pain before meetong someone that would be our source of happiness.
