Good day, Hivers! It’s me again, @rufajane, back with another blog for this week. Today, I’m excited to share our Unexpected Sunday Gala—a night filled with joy, music, and laughter. So keep reading and enjoy!
As usual, our family attended religious activities last Sunday. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends, think, and catch up. We were going to leave the event when a close family friend unexpectedly extended an invitation to us. He is one of my father's closest friends, and we had a good relationship with his Korean wife.
He sent us a special invitation to eat dinner at their house which was not unusual given that we have a close relationship. We were all excited to go since the invitation was so spontaneous and none of us prepared for it.
When we arrived at their house, we were greeted warmly, and it was full of excitement. The gathering was simple but it was enjoyable especially since I had my friends to chat with. We had a lovely dinner together, telling stories and laughing. We don't even notice how fast time passes as we recall our past experiences and exchange jokes. 😂
Of course, in line with Filipino culture, no gathering is complete without "kantahan" (singing) haha (is it relatable to you? 😅). The nice things started as soon as the video was turned on. We took turns singing our favorite songs, which went from emotional to energetic. Some of us sang enthusiastically, while others simply listened and cheered.
Before we realized it, the clock reached 2:00 a.m. We hadn't noticed it was late because we were having so much fun. Even after we got home, me and my siblings keep on laughing with the same joke we heard during the gathering. I found myself smiling and revisiting funny situations in my brain. It was truly one of the nicest nights ever—an unanticipated celebration that evolved into an unforgettable experience.
