What could be more delightful than an afternoon spent laughing and sharing stories with friends under the sun?
Hey Hivers! it's me again, Jera and welcome to another memorable experience with me. Allow me to share with you one of my unforgettable experiences with my favorite human being. Are you excited? Me too😄. So, let's start!
Not long ago, I was given the opportunity to experience one of those magical days that remind you why friendships are such a vital part of our lives. It was a perfect Friday afternoon for a picnic-sunshine can be seen smiling from a clear blue sky, the gentle whisper of the wind, and the promise of good food, good talk and great company.
Before we went to the place where we wanted to have a picnic, we gathered first at our local park to check if we already have everything that we needed. From food, picnic mat, gifts (as we are also having an early Christmas exchange gift) and of course our picnic dresses. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the familiar faces of my friends @annventure, @abbysphere, @stellappreciates and @writewithjo. Each one of them carrying contributions to our potluck feast. The excitement is very evident in each of our faces.
After making sure that everything is complete, we decided to head down to our picnic destination. We decided to have a picnic at the top of a hill. We never thought or should I say, I never thought that the path upward was a bit challenging than I initially anticipated. With each step, the incline grew stepper, and the terrain became more rugged. I could really feel and hear my heart racing, my legs beginning to feel the burn, but those small discomforts were overshadowed by the contagious energy of my friends. As we walk along, we cheered one another on, laughter cutting through the sounds of nature.
“Come on, we’re almost there!” shouted @annventure, ever the motivator. “Think about the food!” I couldn’t help but smile, imagining the snacks we would devour upon reaching our destination. Midway through our hike, we decided to take a breather. We somehow take a little rest and feel the breeze of the air that touches our skin and mingling with the beauty surrounding us. It was a perfect combination of struggle and reward, already making the hike feel worthwhile.
As we continue upward, we encountered a few rocky patches. Our feet hurt so much but we can’t back down because we are almost there! Even though we are tired from the journey but still the enthusiasm was still very vivid in our faces. Every challenge brought us closer, igniting our shared determination to make it to the top together.
Finallyyy😂😁, after what felt like an epic journey, we reached the summit. The view was breathtaking-you can see the city as well as the sea. It was amazing how the fatigue from the hike melted away at the moment. We felt like champions standing there, victorious and on top of the world.
We quickly laid out our picnic blanket on a flat grassy spot, unpacking our snacks amid a flurry of excitement. Chips, juices, and sodas were shared and devoured with a side of stories and laughter. Each bite tasted better than the last, amplified by the crisp mountain air and the stunning view that surrounded us.
In between bites, we snapped pictures and made silly poses, doing some Tiktok trends 😂, and capturing the essence of joy that filled that moment. Aside from this, of course the most exciting part of our picnic date was the exchanging of gifts. As we hand each other’s gift, we can’t contain the excitement and happiness we felt upon opening our gifts.
As we savored the last crumbs of our feast, we spent time soaking in the beauty around us. We reminisced about the past adventures and dream up future plans, all while soaking up that golden hour light.
Few hours later, we decided to begin our descent. Hiking down felt lighter, filled with animated conversations and plans for our next adventure. Although, our legs were weary, our hearts brimmed with joy and our spirits soared high from the memories we had created together.
