Como ya es costumbre desde 2019, nos reunimos nuevamente para hacer la cena navideña grupal. Me alegra que sigamos manteniendo las ganas de compartir y de continuar con la tradición, aunque cada vez seamos menos los que nos encontramos en el país.
As has become customary since 2019, we are getting together again for a group Christmas dinner. I am glad that we still have the desire to share and to continue the tradition, even though there are fewer and fewer of us in the country.
Para nuestra quinta cena navideña decidimos ir a un sitio a compartir. Normalmente alguien ofrece su casa y compramos lo necesario pero, por experiencias anteriores, este año preferimos hacerlo diferente para trabajar menos y disfrutar más.
For our fifth Christmas dinner we decided to go to a place to share. Normally someone offers their home and we buy what we need, but from previous experiences this year we prefer to do it differently to work less and enjoy more.
El sitio que se escogió fue Autónomo. Un restaurant relativamente nuevo en mi ciudad, Maracay, Venezuela. Yo no conocía el lugar y me emocionaba visitarlo. Así que, sin hablarlo mucho, se pagó el monto necesario y nos dimos cita ese viernes en la noche para celebrar.
The place chosen was Autónomo. A relatively new restaurant in my city, Maracay, Venezuela. I didn't know the place and I was excited to visit it. So, without much discussion, the necessary amount was paid and we met that Friday night to celebrate.

Al llegar me pareció un sitio normal, pero al entrar me encontré con cuadros enormes de diferentes artistas nacionales, ya por ahí me habían conquistado y no había terminado de entrar!
Dado que es un sitio para tomar vino y comer tapas (pasapalos, aperitivos) tenían una especie de bodega acogedora, donde mostraban las botellas que tenían disponibles y, para completar la experiencia, un mesero encargado de explicar las características de cada vino.
When I arrived I thought it was a normal place, but when I entered I found huge paintings of different national artists, I had already been conquered by them and I had not finished entering! Since it is a place to drink wine and eat tapas (appetizers, snacks) they had a kind of cozy wine cellar, where they showed the bottles they had available and, to complete the experience, a waiter was in charge of explaining the characteristics of each wine.
Subimos las escaleras y llegamos al sitio designado para nosotros. La verdad era bastante estrecho el espacio, pero lo manejamos con humor. Desde ahí pude ver el resto de las instalaciones. En planta baja, en un espacio abierto, había mesas y sillas bastante pintorescas, también había fogatas con sillas alrededor.
We went up the stairs and arrived at the place designated for us. The space was quite cramped, but we managed it with humor. From there I could see the rest of the facilities. On the first floor, in an open space, there were tables and chairs quite picturesque, there were also bonfires with chairs around them.
Esa noche particularmente no me apetecía estar cerca del fuego, hacía bastante calor, pero después de cenar y disfrutar de la música en vivo decidimos movernos a otro espacio así que subimos a la ultima terraza donde también había una fogata. Por suerte había suficiente espacio para mantenernos lejos del calor, más tarde descubrimos que podíamos regular la intensidad del fuego.
That night I didn't particularly feel like being near the fire, it was quite hot, but after dinner and enjoying the live music we decided to move to another space so we went up to the last terrace where there was also a bonfire. Luckily there was enough space to keep us away from the heat, later we discovered that we could regulate the intensity of the fire.
En el transcurso de la noche decidí recorrer el lugar y quedé encantada. Me gustó porque transmite simplicidad e intimidad, invita a sentarte tranquilamente a conversar mientras te tomas un vinito y ves presentaciones en vivo, tiene algo que lo diferencia de otros lugares en la ciudad. En una terraza (otra!) había mesas para recibir a comensales y caballetes donde exponen diferentes obras, me parece ideal cuando se busca vivir una experiencia diferente, más allá de solo salir a comer.
During the course of the evening I decided to visit the place and I was delighted. I liked it because it transmits simplicity and intimacy, it invites you to sit quietly and talk while you have a glass of wine and watch live presentations, it has something that differentiates it from other places in the city. On a terrace (another one!) there were tables to receive diners and easels where different works are exhibited, I think it is ideal when you are looking for a different experience, beyond just going out to eat.

La velada avanzó tranquilamente, hablamos, reímos... Hacía un año ya que no veía a muchos de ellos. Por cosas de la vida cada quien se encontraba en su rutina y había sido difícil coincidir. Brindamos y dimos gracias. Algunos se fueron temprano, otros nos quedamos hasta el final jugando jenga y recordando juegos de bebidas para hacer que todos tomaran, extendimos la noche lo más que pudimos.
The evening went smoothly, we talked, laughed.... It had been a year since I had seen many of them. For life's sake, everyone was in their own routine and it had been difficult to coincide. We toasted and gave thanks. Some left early, others stayed until the end playing jenga and playing drinking games to make everyone drink, we extended the night as much as we could.
Aunque falten integrantes importantes del grupo en cada cena, me alegra ver caras nuevas. Hijos, nuevos amigos, nuevos novios, familiares. Todos unidos para celebrar la amistad, la vida y la navidad.
Nos despedimos y, como siempre, quedamos en que esta vez sí nos veríamos más seguido...
Even though important members of the group are missing at every dinner, I am happy to see new faces. Children, new friends, new boyfriends, new family members. All united to celebrate friendship, life and Christmas.
We said goodbye and, as always, we agreed that this time we would see each other more often...
¡Qué bonito sitio, me encantó la visita virtual! No soy muy de vinos pero si de reunirme con los amigos, aunque admito, que al igual que ustedes, no lo hago tanto como me gustaría.
Nuestra reunión será el día 1ro acá en casa 🏡. Ya sabes a quién le tocará trabajar esta vez 😂.
