Paso por acá a saludarlos. Confieso que estuve sin publicar algunos días. He estado enfermo y una forma de salir de mi estado, es entrar a Hive un rato al día. Ayer salí de casa, tenía un motivo muy especial.
En el año 2015 me inicié como profesional de la educación en el IPVCE de mi provincia y con pocos años de diferencia entre mis alumnos y yo, pude lograr que me arroparan con cariño y respeto, así como lo hice yo con ellos.
De este grupo al que impartí la otrora asignatura Español-Literatura, pues hoy ha cambiado su nombre a Literatura y Lengua en preuniversitario, guardo muchos recuerdos. Este viernes se graduaron como Doctores en Medicina. Fueron mis primeros alumnos en mi vida de maestro. ¡Tenía que estar con ellos hoy!
Sé que muchos maestros pueden ver en un grupo de estudiantes un entorno amistoso o familiar. Yo no sabría definir cuál de los dos. Era una mezcla de seriedad, compromiso, abnegación, responsabilidad, esmero, dedicación, familiaridad, amistad…
En su etapa de preuniversitario tuve la posibilidad de trabajar con ellos los tres cursos. Una vez que se fueron del IPVCE me fui también a trabajar a la Universidad. La vida nos cambió. Algunos emigraron a otros países, pero las redes nos ayudan a estar cerca.
Con los que quedan en Cuba, tenía el compromiso de estar. Me invadió una sensación de empatía. Acompañar a mis estudiantes en su graduación como profesionales de la salud, lo veía también como un triunfo mío. Siempre les inculqué tener buena caligrafía, para que se entienda lo que escriben si decidían ser médicos, ¡y espero así sea! Jjjjjjjjjj.
Ya están grandes jjjjjjj, pero fuimos amigos, fuimos familia desde el 2015 al 2017, cuando estaban más chiquitos. En el año 2019 mi suegro estuvo hospitalizado y allí vi a varios de ellos, haciendo prácticas y nos abrazábamos. Me ayudaron mucho y conversábamos sobre lo sacrificios que hace en Cuba un estudiante de Medicina.
Se es muy exigente en la Universidad. Los profesores de esta no son graduados de Universidades Pedagógicas. Son otros médicos que imparten clases y en muchas ocasiones, los métodos no son los tradicionales.
Por eso había que estudiar más, divertirse con los amigos, pero estudiar para conferencias, seminarios y clases prácticas. Hoy me llegué a su Universidad, los acompañé. Al igual que yo, allí estaba Serafina, una profesora de Química del IPVCE; también deseaba acompañarlos, aun cuando dejamos de verlos entre 5 y 6 años.
Ellos no sabían que yo estaría allí. Me fueron viendo y sorprendidos me decían: ¡profe Yosmany! ¿Vino a vernos en la graduación? Nos abrazábamos y de manera rápida les pedía hacernos una foto, pues había mucho bullicio como parte de la ceremonia.
Me fui encontrando con Dayana Junco y Dayana Gálvez, Ridel, Mariano, Edgar, Dayán, Varela, Ana Laura, Ernesto, Luis Ángel, Yailín Brito, entre otros que, aunque no eran de mi aula, los conocía de los pasillos.
Algunos me comentaron que seguirán en especialidades de posgrado en Cardiología, Pediatría, Ginecología, Imagenología, entre otras, lo que me alegró mucho, pues su afán de estudiar sigue ahí.
Con estos grupos me pasó algo significativo. Y es que cuando orientaba la lectura de una obra literaria, ellos creían que yo era todo un erudito en la literatura, y no sabían que mientras ellos leían en sus casas, yo lo hacía en la mía. Eran mis primeros años y mi fuerte siempre fue la Gramática.
Enhorabuena por estos amigos, por esta familia que la vida me regaló. Estoy seguro que la salud de todos estará en buenas manos. ¡Bravo por mis Galenos! Estoy orgulloso de ellos.

I'm stopping by to say hello. I confess that I haven't posted for a few days. I have been sick and one way to get out of my state, is to enter Hive for a while a day. Yesterday I left home, I had a very special reason.
In 2015 I started as an education professional in the IPVCE of my province and with few years of difference between me and my students, I was able to get them to tuck me in with affection and respect, as I did with them.
I have many memories of this group of students to whom I taught the former subject Spanish-Literature, since today it has changed its name to Literature and Language in pre-university, and I have many memories of them. This Friday they graduated as Doctors of Medicine. They were my first students in my life as a teacher, I had to be with them today!
I know that many teachers may see a group of students as a friendly or familiar environment. I would not know how to define which of the two. It was a mixture of seriousness, commitment, selflessness, responsibility, care, dedication, familiarity, friendship....
During their pre-university years I had the opportunity to work with them for three years. Once they left IPVCE I also went to work at the University. Life changed us. Some emigrated to other countries, but the networks help us to be close.
With those who remained in Cuba, I had the commitment to be there. I was overcome with a sense of empathy. Accompanying my students in their graduation as health professionals, I also saw it as a triumph of my own. I always instilled in them to have good penmanship, so that what they wrote would be understood if they decided to become physicians, and I hope it would be! Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjj.
They are grown up now jjjjjjjjjjjj, but we were friends, we were family from 2015 to 2017, when they were younger.
In 2019 my father in law was hospitalized and there I saw several of them, doing internships and we would hug each other. They helped me a lot and we talked about the sacrifices that a medical student makes in Cuba.
They are very demanding at the University. The professors here are not graduates of Pedagogical Universities. They are other doctors who give classes and in many occasions, the methods are not the traditional ones.
So you had to study more, have fun with friends, but study for lectures, seminars and practical classes. Today I came to their University, I accompanied them. Like me, there was Serafina, a Chemistry teacher from IPVCE; she also wanted to accompany them, even though we stopped seeing them between 5 and 6 years.
They did not know I would be there. They saw me and, surprised, they said to me: "Professor Yosmany! Did you come to see us at graduation? We hugged each other and I quickly asked them to take a picture of us, because there was a lot of hustle and bustle as part of the ceremony.
I kept meeting Dayana Junco and Dayana Gálvez, Ridel, Mariano, Edgar, Dayán, Varela, Ana Laura, Ernesto, Luis Ángel, Yailín Brito, among others who, although they were not from my class, I knew from the hallways.
Some of them told me that they will continue in postgraduate specialties in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Imaging, among others, which made me very happy, because their eagerness to study is still there.
Something significant happened to me with these groups. And that is that when I guided the reading of a literary work, they believed that I was a scholar in literature, and did not know that while they read in their homes, I did it in mine. It was my early years and my forte was always Grammar.
Congratulations for these friends, for this family that life gave me. I am sure that everyone's health will be in good hands. Bravo to my Galenos! I am proud of them.

Saludos mi estimado amigo, primeramente te deseo una pronta recuperación, para que vuelvas a la normalidad que sabemos lo importante que eres para las funciones que realizas a diario. He aquí un ejemplo de lo importante que eres, me alegra leer sobre lo orgulloso que te sientes que este grupo de jóvenes fueron tus alumnos, les enseñaste una materia escolar, pero estoy seguro que no solo se quedó allí, ahí hubo humanidad, prinsipios y valores que solo un buen maestro es capaz de sembrar en sus educandos. Muchas felicidades para estos muchachos por su graduación y la dicha que tuvieron de contar con tu trabajo en su preparación con vista a su futuro. Que tengas un lindo día.

Muchas felicidades, te entiendo perfectamente, sé lo que se siente cuando uno se reencuentra con sus alumnos, fui profesor desde 1974, ya estoy jubilado. También impartí clases de Español - Literatura en el IPVCE durante 5 años, los últimos 17 los trabajé en la UPR. Saludos
