It's been a week since I joined here, I don't have the strength to make a post and have to work hard to gather my strength, besides that, today is exactly 7 days since my grandmother passed away and of course I have to help with all the preparations for the seven days, here we have own tradition if someone dies
However, it is not sad news that I will share, but rather happy news, where one of my cousins got married a few days ago, and on that day the whole family I have gathered here, both friends, family and relatives.
OK, this story begins when the bride and groom arrive at the party house, we here have customs and culture that are still quite strong, this wedding tradition does look simple but all the customs are carried out well, as is done by the bride and groom, they both have to wash both feet. their parents, starting with the groom's parents, then continuing with washing the feet of the bride's parents, with the aim of asking for prayers for both of them.
The water used to wash the feet is not ordinary water, but water that has been filled with flowers and salt. I don't know why this is done, but that is the tradition we have carried out since the beginning of time.
The musical accompaniment of the era also runs until the procession ends, and after that the bride and groom are asked to step on a chicken egg before they are both tied in a cloth and taken to the altar.
The two of them had been tied together, that was also part of the tradition, and the person guiding their path was the eldest grandmother of our family
The traditional clothes that both of them wear also have their own meaning, and before they are taken to the altar, both of them are first required to change into other traditional clothes that have been prepared, in total there are 4 traditional clothes that they have to wear.
After that they just went to the aisle and entered the photo session, here I also couldn't capture the entire process of the event, because I myself had to help with all the necessary preparations, such as washing dishes and so on.
There are a lot of traditional clothes that must be worn because the people here also consist of various tribes, and to respect all groups, this is how we do it, even though we only carry out Javanese traditions, we also wear traditional clothes from other tribes, even if only for photo shoots.
This is my younger cousin, he is wearing other traditional clothes which are also part of tradition, his job here is to accompany the bride and groom when they are on the aisle
While welcoming the arriving guests, music was played, the families were required to go up on stage together with the bride and groom to celebrate their happy day together.
It may sound funny, but that's how it is, even though it's not part of the tradition, it is inherent and has become a habit for the people here to dance with the bride and groom, accompanied by traditional music.
This event lasted from morning to evening, but in the afternoon, the moment of happiness was even more felt, because the whole extended family had gathered, and I invited everyone to take photos together.
In fact, not all of my family came, even my mother and father are not in the picture, because they have to serve the guests who come, and moments of togetherness like this don't happen every day, especially since our houses are far from each other, it feels really good to be able to gather like this, even if only for a moment
I asked the ice cream seller for help to take photos of this togetherness, and this moment also served as the start of the new year for all of us
However, this moment of happiness didn't last long, because a few days later my grandmother died, and that's why I can't share the time to tell the story here, even now, I just got the news that my aunt has also passed away.
