You see God's love is something we'd never fully understand. Little wonder why Paul told us to experience it, even if we do not fully understand it. He knew we never would, not until Christ comes atleast.
Can I remind you today that GOD HOLDS NO GRUDGE AGAINST YOU. Even after understanding God's grace, I sometimes still fall for the lies. I think my own self condemnation reflects God's heart towards me.
Sometimes it's as silly as thinking that God is mad at me when I saw a movie before going to bed instead of watching a sermon.
Does God want me to be a better person? Yes. Does He want me to stop doing certain things? Yes
But He wants me more than anything to approach him from a place of love, not fear.
God never works with fear, nor guilt. Satan does. Those are Satan's tools. If you are doing all the good things because you are afraid of something, you are doing EXACTLY what Satan wants.
Sometimes we think that the devil wants us to steal and tell lies. Yea, he does. But more than anything , he wants to keep you from entering the fullness of your salvation. He knows if he presents stealing and killing to you, you will say no. But if he presents religion, you'd jump on it, because it looks like a good thing.
Does God want you to do good things? YES! But not from fear, from love. In this kingdom, we do the things we do because that's how people in my kingdom do things.
I don't do certain things not because I'm scared , but because 'we don't do that here'.
God does not hold grudges against you. And the biggest lie the devil will tell you is that you have to clean up before coming to God. That's a lie. Nothing Satan says is ever true. God wants you to come, and then he will clean you up.
Come first. Come as you are. God likes babies!!!! Come join the family. Just come. Still having sex outside marriage, come! Still watching porn? Come! Still dealing with anger? Come! Just be coming like that. Come! Come and join us. I know we social media preachers make it look like Christianity is about perfection. No, it's about love. Love that never lets go. Love that waits.
I was still battling with some secret sin years after being born again. I will ALWAYS tell this story. He waited. He was patient. Through the rise and fall, He waited. He wasn't just watching to see if I fall, He was holding me by the hands and walking with me. And each time I fell, He did not continue moving. He stayed right there with me till I stood again. He did not abandon me. He waited. Love waited.
He's waiting. Come!
You dunno how? I got you. Just talk to him. Yea, he's right there. He's always been there. Tell him your heart. And just in case you don't know the words to say, I got you...let's do this
"Jesus, they said you like messed up people like me. They say you can fix me. They say you can accept me. They say you died for me
They say you chose me. Well, I believe them. I believe you. I believe you died and took my sins away. I am not perfect, not even close. But take this broken pieces of my heart and make it yours. I surrender my life to you. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Come do what you do. Amen".
And if you know Jesus already but you've been far gone because you think somehow you need to go fix yourself first, you never will. Come back home. Come back to papa's arms. His blood has enough allowance to cover for your sins. Come back to papa. You know how to do it. Just talk. Try it and see if he rejects you. Try it.
