The David's Dance

When was the last time you danced before the Lord like David or has the Holy Spirit come upon you before to dance David's dance?

Most times, all we need to dance is dance David's dance, not only in the church but in our homes for all that He has done for us and the faith that He that started a good work in us will surely finish it. Most times, our sincere dance to God with the help of the Holy Spirit can break the shackles of the devil.

2 SAMUEL 6:14-22

And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.
So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns.
Michal’s Contempt for David
But as the Ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she was filled with contempt for him.
They brought the Ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And David sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings to the Lord.
When he had finished his sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Then he gave to every Israelite man and woman in the crowd a loaf of bread, a cake of dates,[b] and a cake of raisins. Then all the people returned to their homes.
When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls as any vulgar person might do!”
David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord. Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!”

When we dance with the leading of the Holy Spirit in the physical realm which is pleasing to God, extraordinary things happen in the spiritual realm.

Show me a man who can not dance and I will show you a man who danced with just the shout of joy blow of ram's horn. I don't know if anybody is imagining how David's danced but I am. Nowadays, in the church or in our homes, we dance to the rhymes or beating of a song. David dance with all his might not to the beating of a drum or the other instrument used today in churches or used by singers but to the shout of joy and sound of the trumpet.

MARK 6:22

For when Herodias's daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests. And the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.”

King James version says, he danced with all his might not minding the people around him, not dancing to please the people around him as the Herodias daughter did but with the help of the Holy Spirit to please his maker and the creator of heaven and the earth.

In great excitement David and in thanks and praise for the Lord, he leaped and danced. It wasn't his business what steps he was dancing, it wasn't his business if he was dancing correctly, neither did he care that he could have looked ridiculous, all this man was after was to show his thanks and worship to Him who had blessed David.

How will it feel like to worship our God in this way, Without reservations? Without limits. Without a care in the world except to show the proper worship to the One who deserves everything we have to give.

I don't know if someone is understanding me, how will it feel like when someone comes into your room and you re sweating profusely from dancing to your creator but no music just seeing all He has done for you caused the dance. God needs people who will worship Him in their dancing steps and not pleasing men.

All we need is faith and heart to be able to dance as David danced!

His worship was without limits, it was a dance offering to His Lord out of an overflow of love and gratefulness for His goodness towards him and his kingdom.

Nothing could stop him, not the people who thought he looked silly, or even his self-consciousness, not his wife who felt disgusted about it because he knew he wasn't dancing to man but to God and he knew it was a sincere worship for all that the Lord has done. He wasn't drunk of wine but drunk with joy and gladness.

Some might say, they don't know how to dance but I tell you, once you dance with the leading and auction of the Holy Spirit, you will dance more than the trained dancers who were trained to just dance.

If you dance with the help of the Holy Spirit, even the dry bones will have life.

I love this dance, swirling, King David said that God took his life from anonymity, and put a ring and a royal costume on him, so he kept dancing.
