MUST YOU WAIT?

"For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light" (Luke 16:8).

Jesus is Lord, praise him now and forever. Jesus throughout his ministry used many symbols in sending his message to his audience. Today he uses the scenario of a rich man who had a steward. It was brought to his notice that this steward was wasting his goods. When the steward saw that his time was coming to an end. He used his position to secure a place for himself in case the master should disown him.

The question is must we wait till when things are out of hand before we reform our lives? Though the master praised him of his prudence, but was he right in doing that? This for me is a cheat. If we have some good or better to do, it is now. We cannot continue in our old ways. We may not be lucky, so what do we have to do? We must take every opportunity to gain for ourselves heaven or to do the good. Will you be found worthy if the master should come today?

St. Paul tells the people to imitate him because he is a model they can follow. He says imitate me as I imitate Christ. He did not wait till the end before doing what was right. Throughout his life used what God has given him for the good of all. St. Paul used what God has given him for the good of souls. He used his gift to bring people to Christ.

What do I use my God giving gifts and talents for? Am I honest in all my business dealings? It is only in doing the will of God that we can rejoice in the house of God. We pray that the Lord may look with mercy upon us and grant us the grace to do his will. May the Lord bless us all.
