James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
The Almighty God is interested in our daily conversation with people around us. It's expedient that we pay keen attention to the fact that God is present with us while we speak.
Thus, the Master started by asking us to rather listen than speak. This is critically significant, because one that only listens barely sins.
No matter what we hear, if we don't speak we have zero chance of offending God or man.
It's in the vocal response to what was said to us that we mostly fall into offences.
Brethren, in order to remain calm, even when people abuse us verbally, we must not only be slow to speak, but we must be slow to anger.
In fact, refusal to be angry is one of the best decisions to make on earth. Offences will come in their numbers, but the state of our minds does not depend on what was said or done, but by our submission to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
Decide to discard every spirit of pride and arrogance, that you may live a proactive life, not a reactive life.
Let's pray together.
Dear Father, thank you for the privilege to hear from your throne room today. Please help us to overcome the flesh and its anger. Help us to fully submit to you,in Jesus name. Amen.
