I ask myself, how can I hope in God, if I see that the chaos and the world crisis surrounds us? The psalmist David said:
Why are you down, oh my soul,
And you are disturbed inside me?
Wait on God; because I have yet to praise him,
My salvation and my God.
Psalms 42: 5-11 King James Version (KJV1960)

David, like us, experienced moments of anguish and terrible crises that cornered him until he almost lost his life. David experienced King Saul's persecution of the danger of death. David lived like a beast in the field hiding in the caves due to the persecutions of Saul and his army. Similarly, regarding his family, David experienced the persecution of his own son Absalom. There were many crises that King David had to face. His soul, as the biblical quote at the beginning of the post says, "was dejected and anguished", so much so that David had to tell his soul "wait on God, because I still have to praise him".
I believe, dear reader, that this is a good lesson for those of us facing the humanitarian crisis caused by the "Coronavirus" and also the great world economic crisis caused by the pandemic itself.
Certainly, we live in a time of anguish and despair, that our soul is troubled and wobbles in faith, but we must speak to our soul, so that "wait on our God" because we can still praise our King for responding in our help.
Let us not allow the circumstances that surround us to steal our faith, we must anchor our hope in the promises of our God. The Lord will help us in the midst of this world crisis, because "He is faithful and true."
All that God has promised us, He will fulfill. The Lord said, "I will not leave you nor forsake you." Our hope is in the promises of God and our own hope motivates us to believe in those wonderful promises that God has left us. In this sense, let us not allow our souls to be disturbed within us, but let us speak to her and say: "My soul, wait on Jehovah, because I still have to praise him, my salvation and my God."
