Facing temptation

in HeartChurch4 years ago

When speaking of temptation we cannot remember the apple in the garden of Eden. This was used to make Adam and Eve sin.
All temptation begins with a single thought, which we can ignore or let remain in our mind.
(2 Samuel 11: 2) “And it happened one day, as evening fell, that David got up from his bed and was walking on the roof of the royal house; and he saw from the roof a woman who was bathing, which was very beautiful ”.

Temptation in itself is not a sin, but it does incite us to sin and disobey God.
If we don't block it, it leads to disappointment, failure, isolation, and other negative consequences.
Thanks to the Holy Spirit who guides us, we have the ability to evaluate, select, approve and cultivate what enters our mind. With God's help, we can keep our minds from wandering to bad.
David by looking at Bathsheba let his heart be tempted and ignored the Lord's command against adultery and suffered serious consequences as a result of his decision.
Every time something enters our field of sensation or perception, we must evaluate it and pass it through the filter of God's word and analyze if it is the right decision. We must act according to God's will and do everything to glorify him. 1 Corinthians 10:31
